I don't blame Cashman. He came into a can't win situation. That championship core was home grown. He came into a compete for titles every year environment. Now hes been put in a situation where he wiffs on the regular. Look at post season floppers Swisher and Granderson for example. Them two nikkas are responsible for our 2 best positional prospects for not being here. They didn't give Jackson a chance to develop because they wanted the win now player in Granderson. They trade away Montero and don't even try to sign Cespedes because they had a win now player in Swisher.

Instead of sign Cabrera and his offensive production.. they settle for Texeria and is consistent .250 batting. Then they don't bid for Chapman. So they don't want to take a chance on 2 stud cuban prospects because they made dumb moves in the past.

Montero and Cespedes have nothing to do with Swisher.

And Cabrera is unrelated to Teixeira considering he got traded the year before Teixeira signed here.

Chapman on the other hand I would have gone after, and the Yankees did. They just didn't offer as much as Cincinnati did.

1. Cespedes would be starting in swishers spot more than likely. Swishers bat is why the Yankees didn't go after him. And the Yankees were flat out dumb for not signing Cabrera when they had the chance.. but then they turn around and give swisher all that money????? really??? They didn't think he can play first base. Really???:what: Ane because they paying Texiera so much money, they let Montero go (possibly for a stud pitcher) because they have no flexibily in putting him at 1st or 3rd because they are over paying nikkas. And how they gonna let Cincinnati out bid them for any player???:what:

It wasn't a decision of Cespedes vs. Swisher though. If they wanted Cespedes, Swisher wasn't an obstacle preventing them from doing so.

Cabrera was never a free agent. The Yankees had a chance to make a trade for him, but that's when Hank got in the way and re-upped A-Rod. Swisher on the other hand got traded for a prospect. The $10 mil he got this year was the most he got while being here. He made $31.6 mil over the 4 years he was here.

You are clueless. Tex didn't block Montero. A-Rod, Jeter, and the fact that he can't catch did. If you wanna give back the 2009 World Series, feel free.

The fact they make the playoffs every year is really what counts....thats how you measure a teams success or GM in baseball IMO...So few teams get in really anybody IN can win it..but they have been IN it every year since hes been there....

I personally didnt think the roster or pitching staff was good enough this year and they still won the division...I think he does realize you cant win it all just with the biggest contracts...I would wait to see what he does this off season before judging...

Where im at id kill for a world series every decade sheeeit just gimme a fukkn wild card play IN game....

Cashman is just part of the problem. My biggest gripes about him and management is about the ability to produce arms and everyday players. Is Stick even around anymore??

Trading for Vazquez was fukking stupid, signing Nick Johnson was another brilliant move.

This team was frustrating to watch all year, they never had it in them to make comebacks.

True. But this isnt the first time the Yanks have collectively looked like they've never played the sport before. Cano's AB's werent even competitive.

I dont know what it is. The same stuff happened under Torre. These bats just go cold all at once come October. It really is unexplainable....but at the same time there is definitely some truth to them being a home run or nothing type of team.

I realize the stat guys laugh at people saying we hit too many home runs....but how else can you explain it? There's a reason why I had more confidence in Ichiro than anyone else....at least you knew he'd make contact and give himself a chance.

Lowest payroll in the AL represent! shyttiest ballpark in the AL represent!

I guess chemistry IS important in baseball and the A's scored most of their runs this season via Home Runs

I'll say this the playoff is partially about breaks . Look at the game when Cano was Called out at first who knows what happened if that run scores. Or if they call that out at second probably would of still lost but you never know

Don't get me wrong, I'm just saying the playoffs - especially with the current format - has a crapshoot quality. But the Yankees didn't lose because of a fluke or bad scheduling or running into a hot team at the wrong time. They went out and gave one the worst performances in the history of the postseason. There were a couple calls that didn't go their way, and Jeter only played one game, but with the way they hit none of that really mattered. They played like dog shyt. I just wouldn't put the blame on Cashman, especially this year.

Beanie Sigel is inarguably a front office genius. It's not just that he keeps picking the right players off the scrapheap, it's that he trades away Cy Young and MVP candidates and still reloads immediately. I wish he'd win a World Series to put a nice exclamation point on things.
