Nah it sounds like a weird al parody. It lacks actual soul that comes from organically making a sound vs trying to go for a sound.

Back in the day black people made music just from jamming while outsiders were making music on some “you need a new jack swing hit” “you need a r&b song”.

Groups like the Doobie Brothers had non blacks who actually had jam sessions (of course they had black members in the group) and just made good music so non blacks making soulful music isnt always some evil plot. I dont doubt Bruno is student of music but much of his stuff sounds like parody vs homage.

Funk,and new jack swing inspired music..using elements from tried and true hits is why he is succeeding.

Accolades and credit from whom? Why are you so worried about seeking white acceptance. Grammy's have always been the white folks award show.

It's black folks responsibility and obligation to support and celebrate our own artist. That's not on Bruno, or anyone else. The measuring stick of success is not whether white folks accept it and love it. But like some folks already said... popular black artist don't even make traditional black music anymore so how can you be mad at Bruno.

Because the credit and accolades leads to more exposure which in turn leads to more money. But you knew that already.
