The NFL organization has no influence there. The Texans owner probably decided to do this because of their prior actions, the fact that they team ain't gonna do much regardless, and the Flores lawsuit.

The Saints are also probably gonna hire a black coach.

@Pack2 spent a lot of energy saying I was wrong about driving behind Eli getting built around as a result of sports radio john from Totowa and their front office due to the mere presence of a black qb.

The long tail of racism always hurts those involved and erodes. Look at the state of the Giants as a result of trying to put tape around the Geno starting one game mistake, using David Webb as an out as if the cism should have existed in the first place.

Lovie Smith getting hired feels like such an obvious set up. You can't possibly argue he's the most qualified or best choice - and certainly not better than more relevant black options like Bowles, Fraizer, and Leftwich. Yet Houston is clearly setting him up just like their last coach. Lovie gonna get two years and get bounced, just watch.

I'd say that BUT he was their defensive coordinator last year so he's familiar with the team

the two Division 1 HBCU conferences are the MEAC & SWAC

MEAC- Norfolk, North Carolina Central, Coppin State, South Carolina State, Howard, Maryland-Eastern Shore, Morgan State, Delaware State

SWAC- Alabama State, Alabama A&M, FAMU, Bethune Cookman, Jackson State, Mississippi Valley, Southern, Texas Southern, Grambling, Alcorn, Prairie View, & Arkansas-Pine Bluff.

MEAC always been heavy on basketball & academics..SWAC all about football & bands. We talk shyt to each other but we support each other when others try to talk down.

The SWAC-MEAC Classic is in Atlanta every year but you’ll see folks from every HBCU repping their schools

The SWAC was supposed to have a battle of the bands in LA this month but it got canceled. That would exposed a lot of west coast folks to HBCUs who wouldn’t normally get the chance to see them. Hopefully they can reschedule it
