Dude was not a good coach, and lost the locker room. Stop it.
Stop what?

Acting like most black coaches don't get the short end of the stick period?
Acting like that even if he was average he wasn't going to get fired after one season?
Acting like if he improved them over last season but they still failed to make the playoffs he wasn't getting fired?
Acting like he wasn't just a check the box hire in the first place and there wasn't a real plan to keep him for multiple years?

Yes you can be a bad coach and that is just the end of it.
But there can also be clear cases of just overlooking guys, or not giving them a fair shot as well.

I thought it was a bad hire day 1, because the expectations were going to never match the performance. I also have the belief you never want to be the first coach after a legend period. Cause you have even more expectations to surpass.

He didn’t improve them

They weren’t average, but if you think Kraft really went through all this effort to lock up Mayo just to fire him after one season was part of some plan, you are absolutely reaching my friend

Flat out he did a really bad job

Stop with your hypotheticals and making this a race thing, it’s not

Mayo wasn't ready for the job

Mr. Kraft did a horrible job of handling hiring his HC, GM, Staff, and roster and he knew he was getting rid of Mayo before yesterday's game.

This whole scenario backfired because they lost the #1 pick for nothing.

He will never get another Opportunity

And kraft statement

"I am grateful for Jerod's many contributions to the New England Patriots throughout his career and will always be rooting for his success. I appreciate all his hard work and hope the experiences gained will help him in the future, as I still believe he will be a successful head coach in this league. I wish Jerod and his family nothing but success in the future.":stopitslime:

He could have been successful if u gave him time

Just say you didn’t want mike vrabel to make a commitment to the jets , so u can grab him

no coach was winning with this roster, they had zero talent at rb or wr and 2 rookie qbs and jacoby brissett

well you don't win the game that loses the number one overall pick. I had Mayo back all year until this.

All they had to do was run the damn ball all game like Beli did on that Buffalo game that was freezing cold and they passed it 3 times, blame it on having a rookie QB off the practice squad and lose this game. How you gonna lose all season and then the last game of the season with the #1 pick locked you win. I know Kraft and them was pissed. He didn't even let Mayo finish addressing the team.

We need an offensive minded coach Ben Johnson and if they cant get him work then Defensive minded Vrabel should be the 2nd choice or Flores.

he had no head coaching experience. if you're not ready for what comes with that, then dont hire a rookie to lead one of the weakest rosters in football.

He clearly did it because he knew he was getting fired. Coaches do it all the time as a fukk you.
