We just watched ol boy in who coached the Chargers lose mad games doing the dumbest shyt with young Herbert and prime Keenan Allen, Mike Williams, Derwin James, Mack and Bosa and Ekeler but we acting like Mayo losing games with with one of the 3 worst rosters in football was an indictment.

All they had to do was run the damn ball all game like Beli did on that Buffalo game that was freezing cold and they passed it 3 times, blame it on having a rookie QB off the practice squad and lose this game. How you gonna lose all season and then the last game of the season with the #1 pick locked you win. I know Kraft and them was pissed. He didn't even let Mayo finish addressing the team.

We need an offensive minded coach Ben Johnson and if they cant get him work then Defensive minded Vrabel should be the 2nd choice or Flores.

you do know that game was crazy windy
even josh allen was 15 for 30

y'all blaming the patriots when they literally had a rokie qb playing his first game and playing backups.

The bills were playing mitchell trubisky? 12 coli brehs would have prob won that game yesterday, is it Mayo fault kayshon boutte finally decided to have a 100 yard receiving game

There are a lot of things here that doomed Mayo, and it was a combination of things that formed the perfect scenario for Kraft to fire him. I will say that I wasn't on the fire Mayo train all season like many were, but if you actually WATCHED the games, you would see how they would have the same issues game after game. There is a talent issue, but the pre-snap penalties really hurt them and it was time after time.

1. He was a first time head coach that Kraft gave the keys too. First time coaches are hired all the time, but may have a shorter leash.

2. The lack of team discipline.

3. Mayo had numerous times where he made comments after the game that did not sit well with a lot of people in the organization. I think this is something that people will look back on and see as the tipping point.

4. Kraft will say this didn't play a factor (I don't think it did either), but losing that #1 overall pick. I think Kraft already had his mine made up, but once they won, I think he decided to let him go yesterday and not today.

5. I think this is the biggest reason that Kraft got rid of him yesterday, after just one season. I think there's a very high probability that Vrabel will be the head coach. You have a rookie QB that looked excellent this year and tons of cap space. Getting a proven and experience head coach will be big for the team. It doesn't HAVE to be Vrabel, but I think all of the signs are there. I'm also not one that will sit here and say Vrabel is one of the elite coaches, but I do think he will help improve the team.

Media babble. Losing the #1 overall pick is meaningless. They weren't taking QB anyway

And none of what you wrote, individually or in totality, qualifies as fireable offenses for a 1st year coach

Show me where I said he was fired for winning yesterday?

And, no, having the #1 overall pick is not meaningless as you can move it for more assets.

Mayo and the players weren't going to go out there and throw a game. That is talk for fans, not players and coaches who are fighting for their jobs.

It's meaningless as a reason to fire a coach, which you brought up, when you already have a QB

Try harder

Dude was not a good coach, and lost the locker room. Stop it.
This is lowkey why a lot of black coaches fail. Very few are able to earn the respect of the locker room. Why? I have no idea.

Instead of blaming owners, y'all should be questioning by players don't want to play hard all of a sudden whenever a brother is in charge.

Good call by NE

You got a short window in the NFL to show improvement and if you’re not doing that, you’re gonna be out of a job. That goes for coaches, front office and players

If you’re underperforming your ass is on the clock especially if you’re the HC for a multi billion dollar, Super Bowl winning franchise. Y’all bein disingenuous as fukk if yall on here advocating for Mayo to get more than 1 season…the NFL got more parity than many other league, good coaching can quickly turn around a team’s success year over year

And folks wonder why the NFL play is on the decline.

Coaches can’t teach because they’re too busy looking over their shoulder wondering if they’re going to keep their jobs.

You cannot build a program with Over 55 players and 12 coaches In one year
