Some Lions fans calling him Benedict Johnson. Hate to see what Glenn gonna get called :mjpls:
Dan Campbell left the Saints as an asst coach to join become HC in Detroit.....and the Saints were contending at that time.

Johnson is advancing his career like any other normal and ambitious person.

They're just salty because they know their offense is likely going to take a hit.

good hire for the bears. taking a chance on a young successful coordinator is better than hiring a mediocre HC who has been around the league. swing for the fences if you're going to hire a HC instead of playing it safe and hiring ron rivera or mike mccarthy.

You've completely missed the mark. They're salty because he went to the Bears a divisional rival. How would you feel if the OC of your favorite team with inside information on all your offensive players went to a divisional rival? Probably not happy.

You saying fans upset a coach went to a divisional rival is nonsense? Who said less passionate about a fan? Logic in sports is if somebody is leaving you prefer they go far away. Last I checked the Lions weren't divisional rivals to the Saints. I doubt Saints fans cared so much that he went to the Lions.

Not even that for me.

I get feeling a way because a staffer was doing interviews during a week where you would've wanted 100% focus on the upcoming playoff game. Of course if your team wins and they win it all, no issue. But when you lose that upcoming game, take a job 2 days later with reports that you already have a staff damn near in place, yeah, you're going to feel like his mind was someplace else.

That’s the price of having a sought after coordinator in today’s NFL. It’s to be expected since they let them interview while in the playoffs now.

This raises some level of concern for me... because the Bears have had plenty of play callers that would do "interesting" stuff to say the least over the last few years.

Bears hardly targeted Kmet this season, so he may get fukked again seeing what you're saying about LaPorta

:patrice:

Did Ben not trust Golf's deep ball to throw it up to Jamo more? What's backstory behind that? It should be interesting how this pans out because Golf was pretty accurate if I'm not mistaken, and Caleb's accuracy was dogshyt, so I'm good with the hire, there's still some things that are up in the air on how well this is going to work given the stuff I saw from Williams in his rookie year.
Despite what @Deafheaven keeps spouting, I'm not saying anything you won't read about Johnson if you scroll through the Lions seasons threads the past few years. Maybe he winds up being an amazing coach...or maybe he's the next Brian Daboll. It's always a crapshoot with new coaches. I'm just giving you my perspective of his offense from watching the past few years.

Aren't Bears fans always bytching about the offensive line? That's a big reason for the success of Johnson's offense in Detroit. It should also be noted that this is a dome team. I don't know how that will affect his play calling in Chicago.

There will be games though when everything clicks and your offense will look like a machine.

Bears are probably going to be a dome team at some time during his tenure if he's good.

The o-line was awful, that's priority #1 this offseason.

I'm going off of the numbers brodie. end of the day thats what matters, what his production was. it takes the guesswork and feelings out of it.

You said he forgot about laporta often. He had seasons of 60 and 80 catches. It seems like he used him very regularly in the passing game.

:pachaha: If the Bears do get him, they better blow their opponents out to be safe.

Because if the game is close and they need a clutch stop, Stinky's patented "Two-Minute Defense" WILL kick in. :scusthov: :scust: :hhh:

Why is he called, stinky?
