2 things killed the show.

Jimmy being fired/written off. First half season 3 you could see the writers were LOST.

They got their footing backing tho, had an amazing season 4 only to have HBO rush them off for Vinyl, which I'm pretty sure is cancelled by now:martin:

Watching season 5 knowing that the show was being rushed off I couldn't even be too mad at the writers for the time skip and the bs because they did what they could with a shortened final season

HBO fukked them

Valentine Narcisse had more potential

Season 5 should've been 1929

As many have said and will say, they through it all down the drain by rushing the last season. They really should've done a split last season. First half of the season in 1929 (seriously, how can you have a mob show set in Atlantic City and skip over the Atlantic City Conference :stopitslime:) and the second half of the season like they did it.

So sad too, cuz they did such a great job casing and writing the real life gangsters. Al Capone, Meyer Lansky, Lucky, etc were amazing.

fukking :mindblown:x100 that 1928-29 wasn't covered. Could have had a season alone based on:

- Arnold Rothstein being murdered (November '28)
- St. Valentine's Day Massacre (February '29)
- Atlantic City Conference (May '29)
- Rise of Albert Anastasia (late '29/early '30)
- Stock market crash (October '29) and its affect on the Mob

Margaret had SO MANY boring scenes, she became fast forward status.

People rave about Season 3, but the focus on Margaret weighed that season down heavily. Goes to show how great a character Gyp Rosetti was since he singlehandedly made that Season not tank.

Re-watched the series this past spring.

Amazing depth to a lot of fantastic characters. I liked every season... except the last of course. I mean, it was still good television but c'mon.

That rush to close it up was a shame.

Am I the only one that actually wasn't a fan of Jimmy? He was getting as annoying as Tariq is now
Nah Jimmy was a great character he just got too big for his britches. Lansky Lucciano and Capone all waited their turn to become bosses. Yimmy thought he could make it happen being six months removed from being Nucky's chauffeur :snoop:

They had all the gangsters in the show but its like they never fully went "gangsta" enough imo. It was alot of Margret, Nucky, whiny/side chick shyt getting too much airtime.. Especially since Jimmy was killed off:why:HBO should've made that relationship work somehow. You give all this airtime and character development to the co-star and face of the show and then you kill him off then make the revolve around Nucky:what:
