The 4th Season was one of the best single seasons you could ever watch.
But then they fast forwarded 7 years in the story's timeline, and put out a shorter condensed final season on the heels of what was clearly their peak. I don't understand it, and there's no reason why that show couldn't have had at least 8 seasons total

They fukked up by not concentrating on the al capone/mafia aspect of it more. After jimmy died, rosetti, gyp and them were carrying the show. So when the focus wasnt on them and their story line, it became a snooze fest
They just signed Mahershala Ali to star in 3rd season of True Detective. Maaan I can't wait, especially after the fugazi they served us in Season 2.
Show is still amazing to me. I was never bothered by "omitted" history because at no point did the show claim to be some history of prohibition era organized crime. Cats would just keep expecting the show to go on forever so they could cover this or that just for the sake of it. BE had quite possibly the deepest ensemble cast of any major drama since Lost (Mad Men is right there as well). No one character carried that show and multiple characters put on Emmy award deserving performances. When an actor of Steve Buscemi's caliber is outshined by multiple different actors/actresses every season, you have something special. I haven't gotten around to a rewatch of the series, but I have the desire to and I'm sure it will hold up just fine.

I was puzzled how the show was ending in 5 seasons, when it had material and space(in terms of fitting stuff and mizing it with real historic lore and events)
I felt the show could have gone for atleast 2 more seasons making it 7 seasons

oh and the way they killed rothstein off screen was BULLshyt. did they even give him a sentence in the last season? he just dissapeared and dude was one of the goat characters

That would be dope. I'd also like to see a spinoff of the Chicago outfit with Frank Nitti taking over after Capone goes to jail. They could incorporate the policy kings into the show a story I feel like needs to be addressed in a big platform like HBO.
