Boardwalk Empire was supposed to be up there with the greats now its forgotten

They dropped the ball with that last season. Coulda been an all-timer but they skipped all the dope shyt.

I will always stand by the first 4 seasons though

This show could still be on easily but they felt the need to rush it off the air for that Rock and Roll show that didn't even last a full season I don't believe.

Season 1/2 aregoat level. It started to fall off after that but still had great moments. jimmy was the best part of the shiw tho.

Glad everybody agrees that Season 5 was the crushing blow to this show. The pace of it throughout the seasons though made you wonder if these writers thought the shyt would last 10 seasons. Then when they got the word that they had to wrap it up, they did like that funny meme with the dude throwing papers in the air saying "fukk it!"

I think what also killed this show was the whole Hollywood shyt having the neeeed to have love stories - i.e. Margaret, Billy Kent, etc. I hate that.

season 5 certainly did drag the show down a lot but there was one good thing about it - young nucky. dude was AMAZING. he nailed it...the look, the mannerisms, the cadence. shyt was flames.

Jimmy dying really made everything turn and because they'd already decided to focus on Nucky they were screwed since he was the least interesting character really. The stuff with Capone and Narcisse was dope and Chalky was dope but then they just left it all to die in that last season tbh.
