why would you get a xbox handheld when a deck exists :mjlol:
The move should have been Series X and Series P (Portable)

Series X as the console and Series P being a portable where any games bought on X are playable on the P (lower res and shyt due to not being as strong as the X but Series S strength maybe). Not a remote mirror device like the PlayStation Portal but a true standalone handheld. Maybe an option to play games bought on the P on your TV but at a lower resolution due to not being as strong as the X but a switch like hybrid solution. Get creative!

Having the S being a great value Series X but demanding parity with the X was dumb.

this would only work if it was like 200 dollars lol. The Deck can be had for 3-500 now. There would be little market for this if it wasn't cheaper because every xbox game is already on pc.

Only thing saving this portable is if it’s the only mobile option to play GTA 6.

I think it's clear that Microsoft higher ups want an immediate return, which is why plans are changing. I am just unsure how Phil is still in charge because I don't think that brings much confidence in their next console if he's still there.
I don't think Phil has all that much power anymore. The CEO and CFO are making decisions that bring short term returns at the expense of the general direction the brand was going in.

Most people have no reason to invest in the platform anymore. It's not like they're producing GOTY level games and what good games they do make will come to other platforms eventually. Game Pass is just a service for value seekers and Microsoft doesn't have the output frequency nor quality to push it beyond that.

Corporate meddling has pushed them into the third party direction. Seems inevitable at this point. Their eagerness to meet users where they are devalue their own platform. Outside of fanboys almost nobody is picking an Xbox over PlayStation and a PS5 + PC is the better move once you have one of those.

It's ironic that the purchase of Activision Blizzard will be what ultimately destroys Xbox hardware in the long run. Many saw it the other way. The executives became impatient and undermined their business.

I’ll post this here too since yall smooth ignored it in the other thread them came in here to repeat the same dumb shyt

Uncle Phil:

Xbox's 'Sea of Thieves' dominates PlayStation's sales charts in North America and Europe :win:

Sony stans: “Why don’t they fire that nikka and close down xbox” :dwillhuh:

Sony stans :mjlol:

Only thing Phil hasn’t done was “win the console war”

From a business viability standpoint he’s made xbox as healthy and stable as it’s ever been. Right now xbox is more stable and set for the future than playstation by far.

Nutella not firing Phil cause he’s done an AMAZING job dragging xbox into the future.

When you put the console wars down, reality paints a very different picture :wow:

Xbox is "healthy" and "stable" because it bought Activision Blizzard. That's the part of the business that wasn't in decline. Phil didn't guide Activision Blizzard to it's success. He had jack shyt to do with it.

Xbox bought ZeniMax and Bethesda and if we're honest about it Bethesda was in decline which was the main reason ZeniMax was up for sale. They haven't really turned Bethesda around. The evidence other than Mojang suggest either mixed or poor results with acquisitions while they bleed talent over at Xbox. How long did Rare wonder around in the wilderness before finding some success with Sea of Thieves?

Xbox was it's most successful when it had a brand identity. Back in the 360 days it was the competitive multiplayer predominantly shooter brand. Kinect came out and it's been a dog chasing cars ever since. If I had to sell someone on buying a Series console I couldn't even nail down what type of games they excel at. I could easily define the most successful style of game Sony makes. In fact moving away from that identity was the beginning of Sony's struggles if you want to call them that.

You who back when COVID was going on and the Xbox Series was beating the PS5 month after month was boasting about that suddenly "the console wars" are beneath you when Xbox hardware is imploding and doing about as bad as it has ever been.

Not really, at one point console gamers would have LOVED something like this not caring about developers having to do extra work.

Somewhere along the lines console gamers (Sony stans) became PC elitist and determined that the series S is holding gaming back as a whole and dumb, but in reality there is a market for it, and it's no skin off gamers back to insist that those type of options are always available going forward.

Instead they blamed the lack of generational leaps in gaming on 3rd party having to develop for the S :mjlol: and fast forward 4 years in and the PS5 potential is pretty much hard capped and they waiting to speed 700 plus on a pro version giving them there own little version of a PS5(S)

I guess now the PS4 and PS5 base is "holding games back".

Sure.

Use what you got to get what you want.

Why would Nutella be mad at that.

The activision deal was a years long difficult struggle that they prevailed in, and it stabilized what’s now their 3rd biggest business endeavor.

Now please explain again why Phil should be fired and xbox closed??::shaq:

The nerve of this fanboy to pretend like a business man sitting down going over company numbers and picking next company to buy to produce better numbers is some sort of unique skill that only could be done by Phil Spencer. Great business man horrible manager of talent with his hands off approach of letting the inmates run the prison. The brand is rotting away under his leadership and the only reason it still exist is mergers and acquisitions and because the parent company has more money on the balance sheet then they know what to do with.

They're literally the Donald Trump of video games. Failed businessman propped up by his daddy's money and only still around because he had so much to blow he could outspend his own incompetence. If their survival was based on the decisions made rather than daddy's war chest they'd be virtually unknown by now.

Sony is as "healthy and stable as they are because they bought, insomniac.

See how that works? And if we keeping going down that road you'll lead right back to the start of the PS1.

Using them buying Activision as a knock against them but not PlayStation is silly.

And going back to the "360 days" Xbox was in competition with Sony by doing the exact same thing Sony was, locking down games creating "exclusives" the Quality of games didn't change they just got locked down on whatever system instead of being multiplatform.

The thing is the Xbox 360 just had a year head start, which means it AUTO locked in exclusives by being the only system capable to do what it was doing

Now add on the price of the PS3, it being harder to develop for and games being ported from Xbox to PS3, and MS just locking down game exclusivity instead of partnering or trying to own.

Y'all have great memories of exclusives by way of the system being out a whole year before the PS3 and having superior graphics to every other console at that time.

It was a perfect storm.

And that's probably why you see Xbox attempt to beat Sony out the gate again and going forward consistently with hardware.

Or here's a thought they could make good decisions that increase their brand's value instead of becoming a parasite looking for it's next host to keep it alive. Maybe there's an alternative universe where Xbox is a high valued console brand that made wise decisions and ended up neck and neck with PlayStation. Didn't happen here because of incompetent leadership with an infinite checkbook that never had to face the results of bad decisions they made that killed the brand.

The people running the company are too busy having interns play games on their gamertag and pick out the next t-shirt of a defunct game series they own that they're not gonna do jack shyt with so they can pander to fans like you that can't see their failed leadership. More concerned with appearances than their the results of their decisions. Doesn't matter anyway because the next acquisition will mask their failure. Opps forgot that world governments aren't gonna let that slide anymore because the last one got through by the skin of it's teeth.

Are you really trying to compare a company buying a talented undervalued studio and increasing that studio's value under it's leadership with a company buying one of the biggest publishers in the business and propping it's declining numbers up on that publisher's numbers? And you think these are equal? I'm not sure if you're serious here.
