Gotta point the finger at overseas too brehs. These movies are trying to do gangbusters and when they go overseas they gotta play to these homogenized audiences who still thinks the whiter the skin means the richer you are. In that sense they relate better to cacs. If the The avengers was all black with the same script it wasn't going anywhere. :manny:

I don't know bruh, I use to feel this way 100%, but I also realized that black hiphop artist from the states are performing in these countries. I'm sure the first couple of hip hop artist that toured some of these regions had a limited amount of fans, but over time, due to exposure, the number of fans grew

So same concept applies, without exposing an audience to a black leading cast, then their attitude will not change
:stopitslime:

C.R.E.A.M

Majority of this has nothing to do with race.

Yeah because "rich business folks" only care about the money. They don't fund religious/social/political ideologies that they believe in. They don't create think tanks that are solely geared towards social change and that seeks to undermine legislation so they could position themselves/colleagues/offsprings to retain power/influence, while at the same time limiting other folks power/influence

actually a lot whites dont know what their doing. the hollywood execs do, but the model theyre pushing is has more to do with the SUBCONSCIOUS thoughts of white viewers then firmly held beliefs. Its all theoretical anyways. Im not so sure minority actors hurt profit as much as the industry postulates..

In general, liberal whites kind of play stupid on racial issues... but at the same time its just not something on their minds. they arent knowingly turning a blind eye, it has more to do with the fact that they go by the system unquestionably. As far as racial inequality goes, they'll read one book recommended by Rachel Maddow, & thats that...

Trust me, Ive been in a liberal bubble my whole life

theres no conspiracy when it comes to this shyt... just ignorance, close mindedness and conformity

I agree conditioning plays a role. But isn't the goal of conditioning to encourage conformity? thus once that is achieved then it plays into a conspiracy? Because you have folks from different back grounds/ industries making subconscious and conscious race based decisions in their spending/hiring/target marketing/tv&radio programs to advertise on/partnering practices. That the bases of covert racism

For example, wave a magic wand, then the power/wealth in this country between white and blacks become balanced. Isn't it safe to say that the most liberal white person, who have experienced the times when the power/wealth shift was in white folks favor, will feel an uneasiness/threat about the balance and will make conscious efforts of that reality during social/political/economical decisions?

"there's movie reality and there's real reality"
"what were doing is more important, the portrayal of reality"

The movie reality is a business, like music, its become a monster unto itself. Eating and regurgitating the same stories. They are a part of that system. The system knows what it wants, or knows what it wants to portray to the people and will continue to do that until there's money in doing otherwise, or until people want to wake up from their fantasy movie lives, and face the real world.
:childplease:
Which is exactly why they don't cast black and latino actors. Because it will interfere with their white fantasy life.
Also, creators tend to cast reflections of themselves, or their world, into their work. Someone on here has a quote saying "I don't expect whites to create strong black images in the media"

Maybe there are no black directors because we can't envision ourselves in a world our own? Would blacks even support a black made movie that escaped the race debate, or would it be so out of our "culture" (what we expect from black lives) that we wouldn't be able to relate to it? Perhaps this is the challenge we need, creation of a new paradigm.

Interesting notion but I think you might be on to something. I wonder how many blacks would be able to digest a sci fi movie with an predominately black cast. It's sad but we've come to associate black movies with anything that involves racism, slavery, life in the hood, or a struggling relationship. How different would our self-perspective be if we depicted ourselves as an autonomous people making our own decisions. Movies are a lot more powerful then we tend to think they are.

Coli Fam, I'm going to director and produce my own film, it's going to be indie but it would be critically acclaim.

I have two in mind so far, but I'm too broke to be able to shoot either.
All you need is literally like a couple stacks and volunteers.

he didnt ether them.......he simply stated the truth........and i respect him for that.........

but the truth is, those honkeys will still go on doing exactly what they are doing so his words, as candid as they are, really dont mean much.
