He's right though. There's a movie reality and then there's real reality.

You have studios setting movies and tv shows in large urban areas like New York and LA where there are huge minority populations but, the entire cast is white. New York City is 28% Hispanic, 33% Non-Hispanic White, 23% Non-Hispanic Black, 13% Asian. Yet you watch How I Met Your Mother, Sex and the City or Friends, and those shows would make you believe New York is full of cacs

They know what they're doing. Two movies on Egypt are coming out next year. Gods of Egypt, Exodus. Entire white casts on both films. Christian Bale, Gerald Butler, Sigourney Weaver, Jesse from Breaking Bad Even if you argue about whether Egypt was black or arab, it wasn't fukking white.

they took the 47 ronin history and turned it into '300' i was excited as hell when i heard they were making it now i am disappointed, i want a historical movie. the history is better than anything Hollywood can dream up. Yeah... I'm sick of Hollywood acting like white American audiences can't handle anything that doesn't have a white or white-coded/passing lead character(s). It's condescending, pandering, and offensive (and deprives minority actors of much needed opportunities).

Exactly. It's the studio and not the director. Guys like Soderberg, Spielberg, etc are all leaving the movie industry and going to television because the studios are telling them they can't get the greenlight unless they have an all white all star cast

They white wash everything and tell minorities "it's just a movie" but, they get upset when Spiderman or the Human Torch gets cast with a black actor. I thought it was just a movie Brad? Mind you breh....The Hunger Games sold like 25 million books. Everyone across fukking America read them books. It says clear as day in the books that the little girl and her teammate were dark skin and that their District was where the Deep South used to be. The author confirmed it. But when the movie came out, white people were actually surprised and upset that black actors were cast. These are the people we're dealing with here
