i (along with millions of others of all races/ethnicity) was listening to dmx, method man, nas, jarule, snoop etc. when i was 12, i turned out fine and so do most people. how do you know its the parents and not other peers or other influences like books, the news, the neighborhood environment or their school environment? additionally, everyone is free to decide their own path through life and thats all there is to it. a parent can only do so much. i assume you lived in the same household and followed the kids around 24/7 to form your ignorant opinion.

That begs the question what difference does it really matter then if those who aren't on the "poison" are no further along than those on it? more "respectable" content tomorrow will have a positive impact on how people behave themselves

Definitely agree but parents can't let their kids waste away and succumb to the bullshyt. Parents just like to have their kids sit still and do something, and sometimes that's having them watch TV.

I was all about this for a while but realize now.

A parent can be as thorough as they want, strict as they want. They're not their child's peer though. We seek acceptance from peers.

So even if it isn't allowed at their house (as it wasn't mine) the children will gravitate towards it and participate when not in parents sight. They actually may immerse themselves more!

Sort of like...the most dangerous, ghetto kids, may come from two parent, Christian homes.

It's an environment thing.
