@PhonZhi been right yall

Anyone that can continue to deny this i assume is either white or extremely young and naive. As a black man in this country, once you're aware of the tactics used by the white man to mentally control us, its easy to figure out why the artists that promotes criminal and destructive behaviour are the ones who get the biggest platform to influence. We're waking up tho. Im glad that the Lamar's and Cole's are the ones that are actually selling:myman:

@PhonZhi must be estatic right now.

Not really. :russell: We waking up. I can post 4-5 vids rite now about this topic thats been made in the past few weeks alone. And its funny cuz there's only been like 2posts in this entire thread DEFENDING black genocide music while everyone else agrees with Dr. Watkins for the most part. Back when i was making these threads heavy it was the opposite. I was fighting everybody damn near solo:russ:
As a people our consciousness has shifted for the better. I dont even have to speak on this subject too much anymore:yeshrug:

I agree with the sentiment, but the BET Awards isn't something children should be watching.

I didn't watch it with my kids, I did check it out a bit cause I like rap music and I like to see what's going on, on the commercial side of things.

As with everything, this needs to be approached with consciousness and maturity. There's plenty of destructive shyt on TV, and all of it can be entertaining to adults. I have no problem with people participating in the fukkery on any of these shows.

I have a problem with people allowing these shows to raise their children AND a lot of the people in charge purposely pushing the filth toward the children.

Like I believe future should be able to make as much music about smoking crack as he wants. As long as its ADULTS a supporting it. If his music is harming kids then that's both the parents and, and the stations fault.

Alot of interesting point of views in many of these post. However, mamy of the views on hip-hop seem to parallel the views on other black ppl. Yes hip-hop, more specifically rap popular rap music is heavily influenced by outside forces who care littlw if at all about the people, culture and history. However, i cannot in good conscience admit that those forces own hip-hop. Non black ppl may perceive this but i gotta hope black ppl with knowledge gotta know hip-hop lives in the ppl and shows, crowds, rappers djs not in the videos and song played for pay. Thats the forces we speak of.

It seems vital to expose and enlighten others of the the ills that plaque our music, but why throw away the art due to parts (altho major) being affected with cancer? For black ppl to make the changes many of us are so passionate for on this forum ppl of all types of povs with similar goals are needed. We cant dismiss all of a section of ppl bc we disagree with there actions. When we look at the music being played and the negativity it brings why stop at attacking hip-hop? What makes an rapper spit about nothing but negativity? What makes youth gravitate to a certain type of rap over others? If we want and need them for economic growth, for empowerment, for a stronger black family then we cannot write ppl off bc we disagree with what they entertain. Many time preaching falls on deaf ears no matter how sincere the sermon. Instead giving ppl an example a way to think in which they come to.the conclusion on there own has a lasting effect.

Peace and preciate any and all who took time to read.

You know what's disgusting, I've seen way too many parents introducing kids into this lifestyle. It starts with Whip, Nane and ends with "kill that nikka/fuk that hoe"

The other day I saw this chick with a bunch of little kids stuffed in the backseat pounding Future :snoop: It was really a disgusting sight :scust: Them kids couldn't be older than 12

Notice how your opposition is awfully quiet :sas2:

I assume even they are waking up and coming to terms with the truth. I love hiphop as much as the next man but the INTENTIONAL MANIPULATION of our artform has to be acknowledged at some point. Hiphop was created as an expression to uplift, educate and motivate us positively. Once our oppressors saw its power & influence, they took it over for THEIR benefit. Not sure why this is so hard to understand for some of these dudes.
