These days you find anything under 900$ your LIFE IS IN DANGER

:russ:

I work here in Atlanta, and everyone back home in NC comes to me to try to get them on out here. Shxt is tough, as the jobs just aren’t out here like that. Even had one friend come out here on a whim, and 3 months later was heading right back to NC. I honestly tell them that they are better off there. My little bro is trying to come out here, and I’m telling him now to stay home. You need to have gone to Tech, Spelhouse, be white, or know someone out here to really thrive.

Prices are getting ridiculous out here, and you can see the poverty all over. I see it getting worse all up and down Old National.

Honestly, ATL's economy just isn't big enough to accommodate all the transplants and grew way too fast in the 2000's. Most of my fam lives down there and it was way easier to find white collar jobs in the 80s-90s but with ATL being (for a while) the only large economic metro in the southeast (not counting FL), all grads from the SEC schools and down try to get jobs there so its just way too competitive when you add in the transplants. Cities in NC (and Nashville) are coming up so now I think that will eventually be less of an issue. But the cost of living is so much higher now in ATL it might not matter. :hubie:

:russ: I been had been saying this. There are very few jobs for people who want to do work on professional level. The jobs they do have they cater to folks who aren't even here. I got a couple recruiter friends for tech and business. They struggle to find people to fill those roles, due to the nature of companies down here.

You can't just move here wit no job, when people here are still struggling to get one and they been here.

Black people have to hire each other period. Fukk all that white friends bull

start picking where you spend your money and do business.. based on representation.
My homie was hiring us, we were performing and cacs were still mad and got rid of him. Cacs don't want to work with too many Blacks. Just facts. That's not an Atlanta thing either.

Brooklyn keeps on taking it.
The really scary thing is that first person. Masters in finance from a top 100 business school (University of Georgia's Terry College of Business) in Atlanta and has to flip burgers is just crazy.

He should have moved to Chicago, NY or London and made some good bucks and then moved back to ATL.

Ain’t no way I’m going to a good school and flipping burgers after. I refuse.

But I don’t want to sound ignorant. I don’t know his ultimate situation.

Atlanta economy is fine... for others. But for us nikkas, it's full. Over full. At this point, nepotism and being extremely good with someone is the only way.

I went to DC. Best decision I've made. Went from a nobody nikka to the big man on the block. I understand most folks can't do what I did as it takes support from family but Atlanta is a dead end to me. Sure, some of my nikkas eventually broke through but not many of us ever did.

:hhh: Last time I check us New Yorkers still run this.

Charlotte from what I understand is the bunker for NYCs finance sector.

Meaning if someone came and blew up Wall Street I strongly believe Charlotte would be the place to go on the East Coast.

Miami being another as many NYC firms have rented out office space in Brickell.

I wonder why more people with degrees who have to settle for entry-level work don't become bank tellers. Theres a bank on every corner, I feel like they are always hiring. I did it for a couple months...looks better on a resume than fast food or department store. And if you get "stuck" there you can be a financial consultant or branch manager within a year or 2...

This what folks who don't work in corporate america don't understand. It ain't even just black folks saying this. Latins and asians say the same shyt in corporate America. They bytch about how they try to get their friends family on and their resumes get thrown in the trash.
