They are a lot of young black struggling in atl. 30 and under with no real tangible skills are down bad. Rent is creeping up.

I dont think yall understand how many women are lowkey prostitutes in Atl. Especially the 18 to 30 with no degrees or real skills. They figure 40$ for 15 mins is better than working at Checkers or City Trends.

In Atlanta like most cities I learned it's not what you know..it's WHO YOU KNOW

Nepotisim is strong in Atlanta...the only cats I really see eating in thier field are frat brothers and sorority sisters or people with great networking skills...
(Get some WHITE FRIENDS with Corporate ties)

Because the city is saturated ..you have to stand out by knowing someone plugged in or you will fall on your face ..

Like an ex of mine did....

She had to stay in a extended hotel as well....and she is a college graduate who moved to ATL area

Loves to tout her academic accomplishments just like these people in that article but at the end of the day it don't mean jack shyt if your not CONNECTED

Yeah that's the name of the game..:francis:

Hard skills > Soft skills.

I visiting Atlanta now. Yesterday I took Marta to Five Points and walked north down Peachtree to Midtown. U can see the poverty. As a Chicagoan, I know a FACADE when I see it. Breh better get his CDL HVAC or IT Certs. White daddy cant/wont take care of us anymore.
It kinda was always like that even in the heyday. Any city with a large black population still gonna have hella poverty, somebody gotta be underemployed, doing the low wage jobs :francis:

Like @KENNY DA COOKER said... it’s about who u know period

I work in insurance, but have a degree in Human Resources and I know a ton of other people not working in the field they major in rather black or white

I know this white girl with a degree in psychology but she’s a assistant manager at Walgreens... I know a brother who got a degree in Finance, but he’s working in sales..

I respect the brother who working at Wendy’s even though it’s not his field, cause bills have to be paid...

It’s hard out here, but you these entertainers in Atlanta and those broke fools on love and hip hop or real housewives selling blacks bullshyt about Atlanta is the black Hollywood and everybody getting it

That’s why I tell folks all the time up north , just stay in DC, NY, Chicago working and getting paid and don’t buy into this Atlanta bullshyt...

Thats what always happens with a saturated market and there is no increase in professional jobs.

One thing I found out quick coming out of college was that Atlanta's economy wasn't as diversified as places like Dallas. Even with the engineers I knew coming out their offers were 10k to 15k more than an offer from Atlanta.

The main reason was that unlike Dallas. Atlanta did have the plethora of fields like oil and gas, aerospace and defense. So in Dallas you might be able to get 3 or 4 offers and have them compete for your service. Where as atlanta you might get that one offer and thats it.

Atlanta economy reminds me of Chicago (of course not as big or as bad as Chicago). Where as the market is saturated and is very specific. So of course harder to find gigs.
