They are a lot of young black struggling in atl. 30 and under with no real tangible skills are down bad. Rent is creeping up.

I dont think yall understand how many women are lowkey prostitutes in Atl.
Especially the 18 to 30 with no degrees or real skills. They figure 40$ for 15 mins is better than working at Checkers or City Trends.

:yeshrug:

Facts .....

Most of low skilled people in between 21 and 30 were able to get by working retail jobs or in the service industry (restaurants... hotels..bars)

But in this new economy the wages have lagged behind the cost of living in Atlanta and add to that the influx of Latino immigrants to ATL and Georgia as a whole has gave businesses more CHEAPER options to draw from the labor pool...

Most the housekeeping jobs that went to black women are now filled by Latino women .

Lawn services...car washes...fast food are Latino men and women...

And not to mention I personally can say that the RENT HAS SKYROCKETED!!!

People are leaving ATL in droves to go to more affordable locations such as Augusta...Albany and even 4 hours away in Savannah

Hell I live near the ga fla border I'm like 5 to 6hours away from the ATL and most of my prospective tenants had been ATL cats...

One dude I rented out a 1 bedroom and bath out to at my own home said he wanted to cry when I told him 600 flat...

He was a divorced who said he got tired of paying 1000 or more for a decent spot in ATL

I understand cause I lived in the ATL for a brief minute in the early 2000s ..where you could get a nice two bedroom for 750

These days you find anything under 900$ your LIFE IS IN DANGER

Which has led to the surge in working class women in ATL and Georgia "trapping dat Puzzy" just to pay the rent or keep thier phone on...

That's what inspired my thread a few years back I saw the warning signs here in Georgia that shyt was about to get too real

https://www.thecoli.com/threads/sel...-amongst-working-class-women-22-to-39.475909/

And it's not just low skilled workers ..I know a pharmacy tech lives in a beautiful home in Alpharetta who just moved down from Virginia who spends her time on Tagged tricking.....

Although she still has a job she doesn't get the hours she need because she works for a subcontractor that doesn't want to give her full time hours so they can avoid paying insurance

I work here in Atlanta, and everyone back home in NC comes to me to try to get them on out here. Shxt is tough, as the jobs just aren’t out here like that. Even had one friend come out here on a whim, and 3 months later was heading right back to NC. I honestly tell them that they are better off there. My little bro is trying to come out here, and I’m telling him now to stay home. You need to have gone to Tech, Spelhouse, be white, or know someone out here to really thrive.

Prices are getting ridiculous out here, and you can see the poverty all over. I see it getting worse all up and down Old National.

I ain’t gonna lie, this article is depressing. I feel for breh with the MFin. Though, he should have been a bit more discerning about the industry in Atlanta. Cities with a smaller finance scene, especially in the south, are going to be SUPER selective and super white with who they bring in and it really is about who you know. He should’ve relocated to Charlotte.

The really scary thing is that first person. Masters in finance from a top 100 business school (University of Georgia's Terry College of Business) in Atlanta and has to flip burgers is just crazy.

Yep. Though, I know a lot of places that don’t consider anything less than the top 25 worth a look.

Charlotte is the banking capital of the world, I would hope that financial planner is looking there

Exactly. He should’ve known his opportunities would be exponentially better in Charlotte. I would’ve also recommended that he had sat for the CFA but his work history is spotty.

But the point about Charlotte is spot on which makes me question the brotha a bit. A lot of these people are book smart but they don’t have common sense. Which is why some of them are still struggling to get jobs, tbh.

:hhh: Last time I check us New Yorkers still run this.

Charlottes become a heavy hitter in the banking industry. If you’re in the South, that’s where you need to be, not Atlanta.

$600 to rent a room in your house in rural Georgia? :usure:

It couldn’t be worth more than $350.

Your own bedroom and private bath....with a garage

With free WiFi and Utilities included

20 minutes from the beach .. beautiful..quiet rural suburban living
:blessed:

And I'm hardly home cause I'm on the road alot...

Oh yes the fukk it is worth 600

He had no problem with it and paid on time all the time when he was here...

When I posted that on Craiglist people were hitting me up left and right.....

In Atlanta like most cities I learned it's not what you know..it's WHO YOU KNOW

Nepotisim is strong in Atlanta...the only cats I really see eating in thier field are frat brothers and sorority sisters or people with great networking skills...
(Get some WHITE FRIENDS with Corporate ties)

Because the city is saturated ..you have to stand out by knowing someone plugged in or you will fall on your face ..

Like an ex of mine did....

She had to stay in a extended hotel as well....and she is a college graduate who moved to ATL area

Loves to tout her academic accomplishments just like these people in that article but at the end of the day it don't mean jack shyt if your not CONNECTED
yup

Black people have to hire each other period. Fukk all that white friends bull

start picking where you spend your money and do business.. based on representation.

Ive heard from many people Atlanta job market is tough but I don't understand how someone has a finance degree and is flipping burgers. Something's not adding up. :patrice:
I was just talking to my home girl that work at Porsche about that and she said the same thing. It's possible but you have a masters in finance, experience, and you flip burgers my guy:patrice:

And i need to see this pool of people the pew research center got those median income numbers from cuz that shyt don't sound right either:patrice:

I have no clue what your house is worth or how many bedrooms you have.

But nikka, $600??

A 5 bedroom house in Valdosta is 69k. That mortgage alone is probably around $380. With 5 rooms that’s about $75 a room. Let’s say that house had just two rooms. That’s still about $190. Tack on 50 for the extra bathroom, another $50 for utilities and another $50 just for your own profit.... I’m not getting anywhere near $600.

You said GA/FL border, something doesn’t add up. :patrice:

You got to give us some more details. It ain’t like Georgia ain’t known for its hustling ass nikkas.:mjpls:

This is funny to me because literally everybody I know that moved down there eventually came back because they couldn’t find decent work. I tell them the same shyt I tell y’all, if you can’t make money and stay out of nonsense in Chicago then anywhere else won’t be any different.

nikkas visit ATL and see / hear how cheap it is to live out in area but COL doesn’t matter if you aren’t making any real money.
