It's my second year in my new place and I'm still tryna get it together. Feel like adding an aquarium will be a nice little touch that would add to the feng shui of my living room.

What's some important things I need to know?

And post some pics of your current setup

What's the pros and cons between saltwater and freshwater. Not sure what type of fish but whatever looks but is not too expensive and don't require that much maintainence.

saltwater:

can be expensive
larger selection of fish....bright colors....
pain in the ass to maintain though....
but if you have a large enough one...it almost takes care of itself

freshwater
easier to maintain
cheaper
easier to get fish for ir

I got a 55 gal. Ask away. It really is a money pit tho...once you think you got everything you think it takes to get started, youll need something else.

And the maintenance is aggravating

I have a 55gal. I have free water and electrocity. If you don't it's a pit

had one. threw it in the bushes as the maintenance is a bytch. if you want a passive pet that's also nice to look at, get a lizard and deck out its cage/aquarium.
Don't they have technology out now that makes the maintenance hassle free?
