Bump.

I own a 260L sized aquarium and have no problems with maintenance.

It's only a money draining hobby if you're not doing it correctly. I have the Fluval 406 filter (was thinking of upgrading to the FX4 but I don't need it) running with biohome ultimate media.

Biohome ultimate media is the GOAT. After doing my research, I purchased it and replaced it with all the original media when I redid my tank and I can already see the difference. I don't have to do as many water changes and the water is damn near crystal clear even after nearly two weeks of not doing water changes. The fish are happy and breeding in the tank and I keep my feeding to a minimal. Don't feed your fish two to three times a day. That's bullshyt and only messes up the tank. Once a day or even once every other day will suffice. Overfeeding your fish is what messes everything up and just causes infestation of snails and more water changes.

I got mollies, guppies, loaches and suckerfish and maybe tomorrow I'm going to get some African dwarf frogs.

Speaking of water changes....get something like the Python aquarium hose. After using this I can never go back to doing water changes with buckets again.
Good looks on the info breh! My boy gave me his 100 gallon tank yesterday for FREE. He’s looking to redecorate his living room so wanted to get rid of it. Luckily everything came with it so didn’t really had to spend a dime on anything other than water filter cartridges

Trying to upload a pic but having a hard time doing so on photobucket

I’m using this chart right here as a guide to see what fishes i want to get and see which are compatible with one another

I'm not sure. I've only ever used Fluval.

The Fluval 407 was recently released, I'm gonna upgrade to that soon and keep my current one as spare.

Im doing my research on the Biohome thing you mentioned. How do i use it with my filter which is a HOB? From all the videos i’ve seen people are using it with canister filters but yet on the product description it says it is compatible with HOB filters. Do i just dump it in the filter ? I know you said you only had a Fluval but I can’t seem to find an answer anywhere else

I’m thinking about upgrading to a Fluval x4 soon because this filter i have is noisy as fukk

Basically any media that came with your filter can literally be thrown in the trash and replaced with biohome where the media would go.

How often do you have to replace it?

Sorry for all the questions
