What wrestlers would they have to remove because the game got a “Teen” rating? :dwillhuh:
He meant that them having to retool the game to meet the Teen rating standard took so long, that the roster and models seem more and more outdated the more delays they get. Which is ultimately their fault for overlooking how ESRB would rate their game, and overlooking the importance of the Teen rating when generating prospective game sales.

I just can't believe these are still some of the same Yukes people from years back. Unless all the demands Kenny had forced this situation. How could they not be complicit with the ESRB with their decades of experience? This is train wreck

Well it takes time building an engine and creating a game from scratch but even with that they made the game fairly quickly.

This was already outdated when they sent it in. ESRB certification is a layup since outlines have been set for decades. Cody's in WWE and already in 2K23, the attires will be years old, and the game won't have the production upgrades they did in Jan. You're right it's on them but the game they submitted as final was already dated

Omega's not gonna come out and tell you he doesn't know what he's doing

I don't think this team is the one that worked on WWE games. When WWE went to 2K they probably made moves too, anybody leftover worked this

Said it in this thread before Cornette started talking about it, even called it and said this wasn't coming out before they officially delayed the first time.

Kenny doesn't know what he's doing and Yukes hadn't really been making games anymore after WWE went to 2K. They probably know this is their last lick and took advantage. Since the director (Kenny) never actually made a video game before they got taken. Even still they know what the rules are, they just made it that graphic because that's what Kenny wanted

AEW Fight Forever is still awaiting its release, and THQ Nordic’s Global Senior Community Manager has given a bit of an update. Zyddies posted to Twitter to refute a report that the game was “basically ready” and was just waiting a release date, responding to a fan that tagged him for comment. He wrote:

“I mean if you want an unfinished game sure we could release now
The game is doing really well and is getting there, but not 100% yet, so yea just another rumour on twitter I fear.”
Zyddies later discussed the situation further during a stream on his Twitch, and you can see some highlights below (per Fightful):

On the game’s status: “For a publisher, the game is not really it’s not finished until it’s released, basically. A lot of people are having a massive problem understanding that, which is kind of sad because it kind of creates this thing that everybody now suddenly believes, ‘Oh my god, these guys lied.’ No, they didn’t. So hopefully, it’ll get sorted out soon. The game is in a good state. As soon as we do launch it, I think people will be happy. Then everybody will just forget about all the other stuff, and everybody will be happy and enjoy it.

On all the speculation around its status: “That’s what I’ve been trying to explain to people. Development can already be sorted and stuff, but that doesn’t mean the game is done. There’s still QA. There’s still all these different things that they have to do. I just don’t see how people misunderstand it because — but that might be because I’m part of the industry. So for me, it’s common when people check in with me, ‘Hey, is this ready?’ I’m like, ‘Oh, no, it’s early in publishing stages.’

“Again, I’m part of the industry. So, for me, that’s normal that I don’t expect everything to be instantly done. That is why it annoys me so much when we’re now taking our time. All three houses, Yuke’s, THQ Nordic, and AEW, we’re taking our time. We want to do this the best we can. We make sure it goes through a long QA process and a long submission process. All these things and people are instantly like, ‘Oh, but we want the game now.’ Yeah, but you can’t have both. You can’t have a game that’s out right away and then have a good game. There’s only one of those things that actually matter that works and that matters.”

I've been playing No Mercy for over 20 years now, I can wait another few months. I read somewhere that they had to take a bunch of the blood out to avoid an M rating, hopefully there's still some in there because wrestling games without blood don't make sense to me.
