Gotchu.
The way this game is coming, half of the wrestlers in it will not be featured on tv or in the company anymore, and the other half will have wildly outdate attires.
For anyone too lazy to read, here are the two latest updates already posted:
"Fight Forever" Trademark: The trademark issue in question became public knowledge shortly after a March 1, 2023 filing by a lawyer representing GCW over the "Fight Forever" trademark noting the promotion's opposition to
AEW's own trademark. It led to speculation on social media of a potential legal battle between the two promotions over the trademark, which, ultimately, was shot down by GCW owner Brett Lauderdale. Lauderdale told Fightful Select, via Cultaholic, both companies had been negotiating "in good faith" with AEW to reach a solution that benefits both companies. However, a solution wasn't reached in time, and GCW's lawyer filed an extension. Lauderdale added he is not interested in blocking the release of AEW's first game.
ESRB Rating: “I’m not too sure how much we had to scale it back, but man, I loved it. You could make the ring look like a murder scene if you wanted to. I hope there’s still some way to get a semblance of that, I hope we haven’t dumbed it down too much.” He also acknowledged that the constant delays due to the ESRB hurt not only the release date but also the roster in the game. While most playable wrestlers are still in AEW, some aren’t. Omega noted that he feels that makes the game feel “outdated” in certain ways. The ESRB did eventually give the game a T rating, which is what they were shooting for to bring in all audiences. However, no release date has been given as of yet.
