A woman will have to go through the full two year process like Obama did to get the nomination.

Too many people just can’t stand women in general(especially those in power)unless she just has the “it” factor to overcome those obstacles
Sexism is definitely an issue but not an insurmountable hill to get over.

I hope you’re right… Just don’t see it happening.
It is very difficult to beat an incumbent unless the incumbent is an incompetent a$$hole like Trump, but the reason that Biden is going to be reelected is that Trump is unelectable. Right now in the beginning of July people are down on Biden, which is normal for an incumbent. But in 90 days people are going to remember that Trump is still a clown and a disaster.

People keep focusing on this bad debate, but they forget that Biden had a bad first debate against Trump 4 years ago too yet Biden still won the election. Barack Obama had a bad first debate against Mitt Romney yet Obama won reelection.

Respectfully disagree. Hillary would have won if it wasn't for the electoral college. Given the circumstances, the right female candidate may leapfrog the vetting process to avoid Trump being back in office. Still its hypothetical because most voters' minds are already made up.

Very respectfully disagree. Hillary lost the nomination/race twice cause she had 20 years of calcified hatred built up on top of the sexism which she couldn’t convince people to not consider the other candidate.

We aren’t talking about just getting people to vote. We are also talking about people not staying home which helps Trump in this purple-red states like Georgia or North Carolina.

Being Anti-Trump might not be enough to galvanize votes in 4 months if you don’t have the oratory ability to inspire people to actually vote for you. A new candidate can’t just graft Biden’s campaign onto theirs.

You’re right, historically being the incumbent has its perks and built in advantages. This election is much different though.

People already had their doubts about Biden because of his age, that debate confirmed a lot of doubts. Anyone who watched that debate or saw clips of it clearly saw a man who’s on a cognitive decline.

Biden was already losing in almost all polls and if you focus on just the swing state polls he’s losing all of those except for maybe one. After such a dismal debate, he’s now lost even more ground in the polls. He’s losing this race and he’s losing it badly right now.

My point was Hillary won the popular vote. I do agree with the last part of your statement. Being anti-Trump voted in 2020 but it surprised me they are thinking the same playbook will work. Whatever it is they need to figure it out cause it feels like they are handing it to him.

To everyone appalled by NYT's July 4 op-ed "Why I don't vote. And maybe you shouldn't either", note that 1) author Matthew Walther DID vote in both 2020 and 2022, and 2) he's an extremist Catholic graduate of Hillsdale College, part of the religious-right faction behind Jan 6. 1/

2/17
Walther voted in both 2020 and 2022. (His Michigan voting record was posted by Timothy Burke on Bluesky.) In fact Waltjer wrote an entire essay about voting. The NYT did not do the most basic fact-checking. Even an op-ed shouldn't be a lie. 2/
Voter Reference

3/17
This account has written often about how Hillsdale was a driving force behind Jan 5. The "1776 Commission", chaired by Hillsdale president Larry Arnn, was the quid pro quo for support of Trump's coup - letting the religious right control US education. 3/

4/17
Hillsdale, which runs a network of for-profit charters, was all in for the coup. Three Hillsdale officers helped with the MI fake-elector scheme: its president (Arnn), general counsel, & DC Dean. Even the NYT covered it, though they omit key texts showing Arnn was in the loop. 4/

5/17
Hillsdale was a "feeder of staffers" for Trump. Hillsdale set his education agenda (via Betsy DeVos). In 2020 Hillsdale officials met with fake electors; Hillsdale graduates filed election-fraud lawsuits. The NYT article just scratches the surface. 5/
How a Conservative Christian College Got Mixed Up in the 2020 Election Plot

6/17
On Jan 6, Hillsdale president Larry Arnn was out and about in DC, taking pictures with rally-goers. He'd come to DC to chair the one and only meeting of the "1776 Commission", hastily called by Trump for Jan 5 - to design an education agenda for a 2nd Trump term. 6/

7/17
If anyone doubts Walther's Hitler-esque photo, it comes from a 2023 article by Hillsdale College's own newspaper. Everyone signed off on this look. (Note: Walther's often called a Hillsdale graduate, but seems he didn't quite finish his degree...) 7/
Q&A: Matthew Walther

8/17
There's so much more on Hillsdale. The Prince/DeVos support. (It's Erik Prince's alma mater). The charter and vouchers scams. The tie to Moms for Liberty. This is who NYT editors think Americans should hear on July 4. Do we really trust these guys on what's good for democracy? 8/

9/17
Coda: NOW the NYT is editing! First title: "Why I don't vote. And why maybe you shouldn't either". Then just: "Why I don't vote". Now they realize the lie: title suddenly is "Why I won't vote" (graphic not changed though). Archived link is from 10 AM. 9/

10/17
Adding to this thread because although Walther is in the Hillsdale penumbra now, he seems to have actually attended N. Michigan. Here's a 2016 bio claiming he had a BA, though apparently that's a lie too. Same Hitler-esque photo he re-used in 2023. 10/

11/17
Walther's been doing the "I don't vote" shtick since at least 2018, when he said democracy was bad: choosing leaders was too "psychologically taxing", so people should accept their rulers "untroubled by futile expectations of change". Except..he votes. 11/
Confessions of an ex-voter

12/17
Yep!

The Russian Orthodox Church is so proud of Matthew Walther as he seamlessly bounces from Hitler to a nicotine addicted Jesus wannabe right into a Charlottesville torch carrying redneck.

13/17
That is indeed a very Hitler-esque photo.

14/17
Looks like he would have been carrying a tiki torch in Charlottesville

15/17
'Stache needs work, combover is spot on.

16/17
This should be a media scandal with the NYT using a bogus source! But CNN, NBC, CBS, etc are all in this together & wouldn’t allow criticism

17/17
Meanwhile, he seems to be posing as a hipster his NYT profile pic.

Actually, he just looks like he desperately needs a bath.
