@FrakerMonica
If you live in Texas, this right here is very disturbing. 👀

[Quoted tweet]
1/Looking increasingly like Musk is setting up the option to pursue a Russia-backed TEXIT strategy. One possible scenario is to spark a deep rift (over the election, perhaps), have Texas secede, but also claim the mantle of “the real America.”

@RandVegan
Texit has no support and isn’t popular with anyone here. Even without Dems holding one or the legislature bodies this won’t grow anywhere beyound Twitter fringe accounts

@FrakerMonica
You are right, but this guy is up to no good and must be stopped.

4/7
@boxcarmurphy
Would Texas really secede if it meant losing all those government contracts it currently enjoys?

5/7
@GaryHar70258384
God I hate Musk

@FerrellsLaw
This is troubling.

@Ninainnac
I live in Texas and will keep an eye out for this bs. Trump and Musk are destroying democracy.

Scoop:

Elon Musk quietly created two new entities this month — one called "United States of America Inc," which names him as its sole director.

This follows his $75M America PAC donations, dark money reports and the "government efficiency commission."

@davetroy
3/Steady drumbeat of this crap from Musk and his proxies over the last year. Promises to “Fight for America,” while basing all his assets in Texas and doing his best to capture government there. Pay attention.

4/First the America handle, then America? Looking plausible.

5/I wrote in more detail about Musk and TEXIT a few weeks ago, but these new developments add further evidence in this direction.

@davetroy
6/Also note re: his filing of United States of America, Inc. that he has said, “government is just a corporation at the limit,” borrowing a math term suggesting government is just an infinitely large corporation. He says that and many other idiotic things here.

@davetroy
7/For the record: a TEXIT effort doesn't need to be successful to cause damage. Even starting down this path is enough to cause chaos, and because it would likely be done in an unconstitutional way, it isn't possible to know how it would play out. Best to be forewarned.

8/11
@davetroy
8/And I would bet that Greg Abbott, Ken Paxton, Elon Musk, and Daniel Miller (the TEXIT guy) would be the ones at the forefront of this. Along with any CSPOA allies that they can round up. Also would anticipate people "moving to Texas" to be "part of this." 🤪

9/11
@davetroy
9/Abbott, Paxton, Musk start making declarations of secession. "Allies" start moving to (and supporting) Texas. Conflict and chaos ensue. Then you see what's possible once that scenario is in place. Repeat. A road into the unknown.

10/11
@davetroy
10/Recall that Abbott has already challenged the Federal government’s authority this year. Expect border autonomy to be the rallying cry, should this come together. This isn’t hard to see.

Texas Gov Abbott defies Biden administration amid border battle over island used by cartels

11/11
@davetroy
11/And I would encourage folks to focus more on this as part of a Putin-led strategy to destabilize and then dissolve the United States than to obsess on the specific mechanics of Texas secession. If they pursue this, it will be the tip of a spear.

Good. It’s best to get all these idiots in one place. Hopefully then we bomb then and take that real estate back

Love that visual, looks like the 60s with all the black college students marching to the polls…would’ve loved to see the campaign do a HBCU tour of GA and NC, or at the very least two huge rallies at the AUC and A&T where all the other schools in the states are bussed in…coordinate some shyt with AKA Nationals to have every undergrad chapter on the state level on the GOTV grind on each campus…would have to be worth a couple thousand votes in those pivotal swing states

@DanteAtkins
Republicans for Harris are saying that no matter their policy disagreements, they can't let Trump win.

A lot of leftists are saying that unless Harris aligns with them in specific ways, they will let Trump win even though they disagree with him on everything.

1/x

2/11
@DanteAtkins
2/x Whom do you expect normie Dem voters are going to listen to, agree with, and sympathize with more going forward, win or lose? Who do you think is going to have an audience, and a seat at whatever tables exist come 2025?

3/11
@DanteAtkins
3/x you can't complain (falsely) about the Democratic Party shifting right (which it isn't, but that's for a different thread) while at the very same time doing everything you can to cede whatever battle you think is occurring for the Party's soul to actual Republicans.

4/11
@DanteAtkins
4/x Let's say for the sake of argument that things go exactly the way a lot of these people are hoping, namely, that Harris loses and it can be conclusively proven it was owing to leftists not voting for her. What then?

5/11
@DanteAtkins
5/x Do you really think the reaction from inside the party is going to be "well, we now have no choice but to do what the leftists say. Jacobin, please appoint the next DNC Chair." Of course that's not going to happen.

6/11
@DanteAtkins
6/x what will happen is rage at the fact that not even Trump, with the harm he promises to the communities leftists claim to represent, was enough for these leftists to view themselves as part of a coalition to stop him first and then win the fight for the future.

7/11
@DanteAtkins
7/7 I'm not sure how you get that trust back. Not sure you ever do. But advocating against Harris now is pretty much the last straw for a lot of people, even those with progressive policy outlooks.

8/11
@WMN4SRVL
i don’t hear “a lot of leftists” saying any such thing

9/11
@DanteAtkins
Oh, they very much say that all the time and they're very loud about it.

10/11
@JakeTSelby
Many of us leftists are going to vote for Harris, we just want to continue putting pressure on her to move left before the election.

11/11
@PatriciusAcutus
“A lot of leftists are saying that unless Harris aligns with them in specific ways,”

..genocide ???
