Well if you keep it simple and change the format the product will be better and people will be viewing the product in attendance.

Everything felt like one big corporate sponsorship the entire weekend.

Skills challenge is to complicated now.

Giannis brothers can't get minutes in an actual game. So why they in the skills competition? To sell a story nobody cares about. It diminished the product.

Why broadcast the team selection before the game started? shyt just dragged on. Ernie seemed like he wanted it to end.

Then after the draft you got multiple performances and then 2 national anthems before the game even starts.

Same with halftime. The performance was the best part of the weekend but another Lebron celebration was too much.

It was just a boring weekend and in all places they select boring ass Utah.

Majority of NBA athletes think the fans are stupid..

That’s why they take 45 half court shots in the game (and made like 2)..that’s their way of saying they are trying to entertain you

A dude like steph gets it..he plays to the crowd (even in regular season..but more in the ASG)..a regular 3 from steph seems like a big deal because he makes it seem like one ..he’s genuinely having fun or at least pretending to do so

Same with Giannis..he didn’t play but he was active all weekend pretending like he gives a fukk about a celebrity game result…that translates into entertainment and the game just being better..just him saying in that interview “this could be my last all star game” was dope..he knows he’s gonna be an all star for like the next 8 years, but he at least knows the fans love to hear that kinda shyt from athletes

The tatum/brown thing was a high point and it was probably only like 45 seconds .. need more of that type of energy

You can see the shift in earlier games as well but thats when that banana boat crew/buddy buddy era really took over as faces of the nba. The last of the old school players were making their last of second to last all star game.

Fans and media created this culture around the NBA where nothing matters except who wins the championship and the chickens are coming home to roost

That’s a cop out. People are paying to go to the games taking they kids to see they favorite player but the stars sitting out, people paying for nba channel subscriptions and the stars for both teams dressed in a suit sitting out on a premier games. NBA fans have always been the same. And the media exist to promote the NBA each night to keep you engaged hence all the unimportant stuff they talk about just to keep you somewhat interested in the regular season. People turning they channels because these guys don’t want to play bro. It’s not the fans or media. The money just way bigger and it’s the social media age so these guys really just think differently. Not hating either. That nothing matter except championship stuff is them talking about the Brons Curry’s and KDs, people wanting to call themselves amongst the greatest. They have always talked that way in the media. Charles Barkeley and them been doing the TNT shyt for a long ass time now and they saying nothing new at all

Exactly. People need to stop trying to blame the fans for why nba viewership is down. A lot of these players really on some give me my money fukk the fans shyt. Stars are sitting out because teams think load management will increase their chances of being healthier and more well-rested for a deep playoff run. Because we’ve created a culture where that’s the only thing that matters

Players don’t give a shyt in the ASG because they don’t want to exert energy or risk getting injured in a game that doesn’t matter, because they want to be available for the games that do matter
