I'm giving the angle a chance because some good could come out of it but The Rock needs to get rid of the corporate panderer aspect of his character, it's like he's trying to play two different characters at once, it's jarring as hell. Then he goes into the press conference right after and none of it was needed, he was just Dwayne Johnson

Yeah, that's why the segment was off kilter. He's trying to be a babyface and a heel at the same time. :smh:

He should of been playing it like Cena and pander like crazy and butter up to Cody.

Him throwing random insults here and there albeit funny was throwing shyt off.

Still, if they land the mark with this, it'll deliver.

The angle needs to be about who's going to take him up on his offer. Cena or Punk turning heel is way more interesting than Cody turning.

I don’t see what the Profits get out of another tag title run. There aren’t any teams that are over enough to run a program with.

The Smackdown tag division is beyond heatless. DIY and MCMG are a net negative right now.

I wouldn’t even do a breakup angle. Montez goes to RAW, Dawkins can stay on Smackdown. Both can be easily inserted into the US/IC title mix.

he is being a heel by even making that offer, he has to come off friendly to get Cody to trust him. No good guy would ever say no shyt like that, just because he isn’t being disrespectful or angry it doesn’t mean he isn’t a heel. He was being manipulative

What is the offer though? Be his champ? Ok, what does that mean? It’s implying something about being an evil/corporate champ but the reality is rock’s last 2 appearances before last night were pure baby face, and last night he was mostly baby face and alternating back and forth between “fruity pebbles” Rock and “final boss” Rock. Which I think is why it fell flat for most. He’s not leaning into the heel run anymore.

That segment was awkward and didn't tell its story well.

The basic story of Rock wanting a corporate champion now that he is in power, him wanting to control Cody, and offering superstardom at the Rocks level in return, should work though so I'll give it a chance.

Rock will probably back somebody else after getting told no. Drew or Cena would make way more sense than Punk as a corporate champ.

Cody is telling him no at Elimination Chamber. Raw on the 10th is in the Garden. Cody/Rock with a Roman run in.

Cody/Rock segment, sure, they're not having a match on a Raw.

It was the same last year. He had segments where he was basically winking at the audience and making it clear he's just having fun, and then he had segments where he fully committed to the character and managed to get almost all boos. I can't explain why, but that's what I'd expect again.
