in EVERYWAY? that is disingenuous as fukk. Both are animes from the Golden ages of anime DBZ was heavily censored in the US the original was on par with alot of anime's as far as blood and action.

In every way. Characters, story, fights, progression, ending, etc

people acting like DBZ didn't have a mini adventure in Buu's guts at one point....

YYH has a well thought out story and flows nicely DBZ is GOAT but it exists solely for the fights

and the fights ain't even good most of the time

DBZ just got that spark and honestly that's all that matters sometimes

YYH IS superior. But it's not greater than DBZ. And that's okay.

Don’t get me wrong YYH is one of my favorite animes. Second best actually.

But it just isn’t fukkin with DBZ.

There are different things that it has over DBZ, but it isn’t superior over it. I like how the stakes feel higher and how serious it feels in YYH compared to DBZ, but DBZ’s appeal is GOAT; anyone can enjoy it.

DBZ is just a more enjoyable anime to me and many others agree hence why they still make bread off it until this day making new stuff.

DBZ is gonna be in many folks top list cuz it's was damn near everyones(80s babies mostly) introduction to anime here in the states. Especially cuz it really appealed to young males, over the top martial arts fighting/sci Fi fantasy action, straight up animated testosterone with some comedy thrown in. It became huge pop culture wise, but bigger doesn't always mean better
Quality wise, there are a shyt ton of far lesser known, obscure even animes that surpass DBZ. Yuyu, while being popular itself but not on the mainstream level as DBZ, has more depth to it. Far better plot and characters. Also DBZ had a ton of filler in it. Find the filler in Yuyu All arcs save the last were amazing. That and it had a better soundtrack

thats not a good argument to hang your hat on on how YYH is better. Story wise both were simple martial art plots that were not planned works from either artist. Both Tori and Togashi were just making it up as they went.

but if you want to play this game of flaws and gripes to poke at

YYH has the same flaw of repition that people critiqued Bleach for, a corny out of nowhere ancient demon ancestry people killed Naruto for, and the series turning and copying DBZ with the power level shyt where everything turned into "how much is his spirit energy"

It has all the flaws that the 3 i mentioned have, but gets treated like a masterpiece by some of yall.

plot wise they are about the same which is martial art based plots, DB does it much better and is far more entertaining and intriguing with arcs like Saiyan arc and frieza. And executes the themes of wuxia better.
