You shouldn’t have to tip food delivery drivers.

I used to drive for Uber eats, and I know how they get paid, so I always tip.

The whole model is pretty flawed though. The delivery companies are barely making a profit. The restaurants are barely making a profit off of delivery orders, and the drivers are getting paid only a little bit over minimum wage.
Without the tips, the drivers make almost nothing.
It depends where you live I’m making decent bread

the city I live in is tiny and has High demand especially because it has two universities

So Cal
Yeah, it hasn’t happened that much, but I usually go by what the app shows me. I pick the amount that they feel they should be tipped and do it that way.
:manny::manny:
How much do you make from it btw? Is it good enough for a decent reliable income?

I wouldn't use myself as a good gauge of most because I multi app and know my local like the back of my hand. But low end is 20/hr high end 35/hr. Like anything else you gotta know the tricks of the trade.

I'm team #notips :blessed:
I don't tip at restaurants neither. You're basically subsidizing a companies payroll.
Most other countries don't tip. It should've gone away years ago.

I won't try/I'm not trying to persuade/convince you but while the bolded is true, the correct way to combat this is through pushing your local officials to change this through legislation, so there's a base livable wage. You should know workers quickly recognize/remember folks who don't tip who are returning. I always decline orders on delivery from past non tippers on Postmates and will encourage other drivers to do the same. Also workers will cut corners on the quality of work/service they give to non tippers.

can't have it both ways. you're welcome not to tip. can't order a service and not pay for it though; go pick up the food yourself :yeshrug:

Don't wanna mess with ya mental but I've done all services except ubereats and I'd say 2/3 places don't seal shyt and the places that do, mostly use basic stickers. There's mad times I read instructions and see they want some type of sauce that isn't in the bag or some additional shyt, I ask for the sauce after receiving the order, pull off, pull over carefully "unseal" the sticker open the bag, throw the extra shyt in, reseal the bag then move to deliver.

I would never touch someone else's food, because respect is a reciprocal (as moms would always say). On top of that I'm no baller but I can afford to get my own damn fast food. I will say there are 0-15% who will flat out steal orders.

word, I don't fukk with anyone's food, cause morals, but there's a lot of grimy people out there, and it is easy af

food gets snacked on (how would you know it wasn't just a small portion), items disappear (restaurant will get the blame for missing items), whole orders go missing on the regular (easy af at busy restaurants: pick the shyt up and then unassign the order), and stacks of orders sit around and never get picked up bc people didn't put that tip on it

never understood doordash and all that other shyt

why dont you just order from a real delivery place if you dont want to pick it up?
instead of paying double :russ:
I think they aggregate all the local restaurants into one easy app as opposed to filling out long forms for each individual restaurant

it’s convenience people are lazier than they are cheap :yeshrug:

I got given bad feedback because I “tampered with the packaging”

I have never touched anyone’s food the package may have been poorly packed or a drink leaked

but we often take the blame and go out of our way to help customers with wrong orders and don’t really get anything out of it

I honestly do this because I have no boss telling me what to do I make money on my own terms

and it gives me free time to work on my music I only work late night at weekends and get a good amount of money :yeshrug:

I tip delivery drivers when I used to order pizza it was always the same dude and because I tipped well he’d always drop off my order first .

For Uber eats I don’t use unless I have a gift card but I also tip but in cash, I used to do it sometimes and I know how much of a hassle it is to find parking, get buzzed in wait for the elevator , wait for the restaurant to finish your order etc

I always preferred driving to pick up my orders. You can't trust ppl, tip or no tip a mf can still screw you over. A tip doesn't guarantee anything especially if it's not the kind of tips they were expecting.

The only time I trust delivery drivers is when they are actual employees of the place I'm ordering food from otherwise those Doordash, Uber Eats, Grub Hub, etc. Nah I don't fuk with that shyt. Why should I pay double when I could either pick it up myself or let the restaurant send their delivery driver with no extra fees attached :childplease: ain't about to hustle me.

OP is broke like most people who don't tip.

BTW you can just sign up for there subscription passes get delivery fee for free and use cash app boost, fold it something that gives you a discount dummies.

Plus if you are lazy and just want cheap meal for yourself you shouldn't be using those services anyway
