You shouldn’t have to tip food delivery drivers.

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
I hate cheap get over muthafukkas. Same people crying about not getting paid enough at work or needing stimulus money but, want to sh*t on someone else. Pay $10 and STFU or go pick it up yourself.

It's not about being cheap. It's the principle. I guess Europe is cheap. They don't tip.

Some spots have gratuity built into the bill. These food ride apps have a delivery fee. They are basically getting over on these workers.

The restaurant gets paid for their food
The app gets a service fee for making it happen.
Then they take a delivery fee which should all go to the driver
The driver gets screwed and I'm supposed to be responsible for putting money in their pocket? :usure:

They don't get compensated for mileage. and have to keep up with their vehicle and pay over 15 percent in federal taxes.

It's fukked up.

But i'm not gonna come out of my pocket over it :mjpls:

The kicker for me is these apps want you to tip BEFORE services are rendered. That don't make sense.

Drivers expect you to tip them just for picking your shyt up. They could be late, have multiple stops before you and your shyt arrives cold. It's not my fault, the app doesn't give you the pickup and drop off location in advance.

Brooklyn keeps on taking it.
I agree.

I pay for food, delivery, tax and then tip? Nah, Uber, door dash and others should pay a fair wage.

sometimes it’s worse when they ask you to tip before the food gets there

I’m sure a lot of Uber east drivers wouldn’t have a job if they did that because now you would have to fill out an app to get hired and then you’d complain that your food is taking too long to arrive

:yeshrug:

But aside from that some of the Uber eats drivers who probably do make some good money would probably make less since now they have a “wage”.

Uber and those gig apps should stay the way they are. What Uber should do is take less money away from the drivers and delivery boys

I’m a driver it’s not a necessity

but it certainly helps me get to my target quicker

Although I’d rather have no tip than one below 0.99 :hhh:

it’s kind of insulting

hilarious. My father was a cab driver in nyc and he would throw the money back at the client if he didnt think the tip amount was worthy.

he lucky he never got shot.

So Cal
Americans just lazy as fukk

u live 5 /10 minutes away and u paying for door dash

get our lazy asses up and walk
If Americans weren't stupid, lazy, fat fukks with a hankering for violence (guns) there'd be no economy. That's what happens when you predicate your economy on consumerism.

Not to mention, in some instances, you would've also saved time going to get it yourself.

SO you have to wait longer, AND you're expected to pay more money?

This. Some of y’all would be surprised at how much quicker food prep tends to be on these apps when you order via pickup instead of delivery, most especially on DoorDash and GrubHub.

These apps charge a service fee and a delivery fee. When you add taxes, the total can equal or surpass what you actually ordered. And they expect you to tip? :mjpls:

you can’t control where the driver came from. I don’t give a shyt if they drove an hour. That’s not my problem. And it’s not like you can pick your driver.

they should make the delivery fee a flat rate within a certain zone and give it all to the driver.
I don’t . shyt way to expensive

That shyt caught me off guard when I first saw it on the card reader as I had just went in there a few weeks ago and it wasn't there. It also makes it rather awkward at the register as they are staring at you the entire time you're determining a tip amount and you can tell by their tone if they are happy with the amount lol.

I went to a spot around the corner to pick up dinner a few weeks back and when I paid, that prompt came up about how much did I want to tip. Before I could even do anything, the young lady at the counter stopped me and said, “Sir, you don’t have to tip us. We don’t even get any of the tips, it goes right back to the owners.” I thanked her for the “tip” and now I straight up ask before I even think about giving them something extra when I’m carrying out.

Another spot I tried out last week put a 7% “COVID fee” on top of my bill. I didn’t even realize it until I got home and checked the receipt. I don’t even know what the fukk a “COVID fee” could be, but needless to say, I’ll never set foot in there ever again.

Driver gets

1. pick up fee $1.79
2. drop off fee $1.41
3. They also get paid mileage, but only from the pickup - drop off points

Uber also takes 25-30% of the service/delivery fees off the top. They say, the minimum a driver gets for a delivery is between $4 - $5. Drivers push for tips because that’s 100% all them.

It’s just like around 10 years or so ago when I lived in NJ and gas prices skyrocketed due to some shortage. Gas stations started charged more, if you used a credit card (to offset their terminal fees), most of them kept that change in place because people got use to paying it.
