People need to stop exaggerating.
Nobody has ever told you that. You may have interpreted what they said, but nobody is actually telling people this.

People on social always make up stories that never happen like "Somebody told me I'm pretty for a black girl" or "Some random guy came into my job and told me I'm the most beautiful person in the world so I must be mixed" etc...

Nobody cares. I wish things like that were my biggest problems in life

While I don't agree with the "dirty" part, I do think it's funny how people wanna act like foreigners don't live in our neighborhoods. Everyone in my building is West African with the exception of one guy and myself. But somehow I need to catch a plane to know how they look. lol

BUT Most of us (west Africans in particular) are dark skinned though even our dark skinned has its own range.not every one is jet black like what people think.

Most of my extended family is dark except my sister, mother, my deceased grandfather and a few relatives.

Nigerians and cameroonians are an exception though.

Oh no breh. They don't come here with misconceptions about African Americans specifically and the USA in general. All that a person can do is just look at them and wonder if they actually think that 40 million people are all the same.

One of the biggest stereotypes is that all African Americans have just type of look. Almost every African American that I have ever seen has been some variation of brown. Some dark. Some light. Some White.
