Speaking of skin tone i see quite a few Nigerian women are still into skin lightening creams, heavy make up and weaves. If they are truly proud of their country and beauty why do they still do this? Especially in the US?

It's not only in Nigeria that stuff is an epidemic across West/Central Africa. The perception of "light is right" is prevalent everywhere in the world even among non-white communities. So they are just as socialized to have the same train of thought as individuals ion other parts of the world. Bleaching is big in Jamaica as well so it's no different.

So true...i couldn't believe Jamaicans (some) are into skin lightening both men and women.

But the thing that confuses me is why do they come to America with a chip on their shoulder towards blacks as if we did something to them? They don't come over with the attitude of "lets work together with our AA brothers n sisters". Its more divided, "them against us" type of mentality.

yea that too but I have seen people in the US and mostly Americans ask African dudes how they came here (insinuating there were no planes where they came from) or whether they grew up with lions and hyenas in their backyard etc ... When you are a world superpower you don't have to know anything about what goes on outside of your borders and it shows among the American public.

American media paints the picture of Africa, not blacks. Unless we travel we will not know what its like in African countries. So its not entirely our fault that we get wrong info about the motherland.

Again, Nigeria was one of the biggest areas the slave trade, and their are a large percentage of Africans from the area in Africa currently called Nigeria.
