Serious question, u play any of the marios tha have come out in the last ten years?

I've played all of them other than the ones on wii u.

I understand they add new powers and new challenges. But what I'm saying is that other games evolve just as much within their own worlds, but still get called the same old shyt.

and galaxy feels much different than sunshine which feels much different than 64......yet the new battlefield plays like the last one with :::gasp::: new maps.......

Exactly. Meanwhile you infiltrate an aircraft carrier on "Battlefield 1942", from 11 years ago....and you infiltrate an aircraft carrier on "Battlefield 4", from last month. :heh:

nikkas always have "played all of them" too. It aint even worth arguin with fools like this nikka who thinks Forza 10 is groundbreaking shyt.

Calling me a fool does not make your point any more valid.

The A.I. System in Forza IS groundbreaking. The tire physics in Forza are new and is something never done in a game before. The paint texture technique is something that hasn't her done in games before. Have you played it :stopitslime:

I apologize and I mean no offense but this shyt was really funny to me. It reminded me of when someone said that Fable 2 had 10,000 leaves on each tree in the game or some shyt, therefore it's better than Uncharted.:heh:

True, other games do evolve and expand on their core mechanics.
The reason that the galaxy games and now 3D world get so much love is that they don't simply add new powers and that's it, each level has its own uniqueness and they continually suprise moving from one idea to the next. They throw different level ideas at you and discard them just as quickly. That's what makes them fun, the 3D Mario's have become somewhat of a creative explosion of plat forming gameplay. An SM3DW does that at the same time as saluting many of the past Mario games in a way that is just a joy for anyone who grew up on those games. Yes it plays on nostalgia but it does it in a new way so it feels fresh. Add to that this is the first time there has been multiplayer in a 3D mario game. It really does deserve its praise and is definitely not a simple rehash of M64

And like I said, other games do expand and evolve but the 3D Mario's have really developed a something special over the last few installments

I'm not saying that makes it better than any another game. I'm saying that is a change/improvement to the Forza formula, that shouldn't be ignored.

I agree that the game looks good and deserves praise. It is definitely the best platformer out there. All I'm saying is that people bash other games for the same things they praise Mario for.

You can't call Forza the same old shyt while calling Mario new and revolutionary.

I think part if it is frequency. We get 3D Mario's once every couple of years. We were lucky to get 2 in the same generation with the wii. Whereas we get yearly releases of the most popular sports, racing sims, and FPS titles. These games could be the best games in their genre but as soon as you are done with it the next iteration is coming out. The lifespan of those games becomes limited to the years they are released. Like who is going to want to play NBA2K10 today? But Mario Galaxy you can play that shyt anytime.

A slice of pie could be the best slice in the world but if you get it all the time it becomes easier to disregard it and see its faults, even if they are adjusting the recipe. If you get it once every couple of years the same pie can taste like the best pie you've ever had.

You make a good point here. But at the end of the day it's still the same pie.

Even though those games have more installments, they have evolved just as much as Mario has over the timeframe, I don't think they should be discounted as the "same old shyt" because they did it gradually. And I don't think Mario is revolutionary because it only comes out once every couple years.

And I think reviews should reflect the quality of the games, not the reviewers feelings about them.

yup that's exactly what it is smh.... nintendo will always thrive because there's always gonna be children so i wonder what these dudes on here are gonna let their children play ? Ryse ? COD ? Killzone ? ... the wii/wii u is for all ages but i guess these dudes are too cool now

Basically, they let their ego get in the way of quality games and gameplay.
