That and SEGA used to provide classic entertainment. People want them 2 gaming companies to disappear so that M$ and their Japanese copy make the same games for mature gamers that lacks any form of innovation or creativity, outside of GoW.

yup that's exactly what it is smh.... nintendo will always thrive because there's always gonna be children so i wonder what these dudes on here are gonna let their children play ? Ryse ? COD ? Killzone ? ... the wii/wii u is for all ages but i guess these dudes are too cool now

People spent the last 6 pages telling you, but you sat there with your hands over your ears basically going LA LALALA LAALALALA so :camby: trying to act like you'll listen to reason.

Let's be real here. You're an XBOX stan. I get that. And you feel some kind of way about these Nintendo games getting better scores than XBOX1 games. That's all this is. People could sit here and explain for another 100 pages, you're going to play dumb because you didn't make this thread for any kind of serious discussion. You made it to defend MS's honor, above any kind of logic or rational thought.

Instead of wondering why these games ain't innovative why don't you get innovative with your posts, and stop asking the same shyt over and over, when you know damn well you aren't going to see their point of view no matter what? Nobody is sitting here even remotely entertaining the thought that you're unbiased. We know exactly how you'll respond, and why.

I mean....you just said every Mario game has played the same since "Mario 64". That's like saying you only need to ever read one book because they all have pages and words.

Fred.

Naw man y'all just went on rants calling me names just like this one.

The only thing I've heard is that he's gotten new powers and the worlds are different.

You are so quick to call me a fanboy, but it's you that's acting like one.

Now would you like to tackle the question?

What make the new Mario fresh, new, and innovative?

Lets be real Bruhs...

Mario has been the same game since forever. The reason it stays relative is because you cant fukk with the quality. You know its not gonna be broken and they always throw a lil twist in there (like Madden used to with a new "special feature" back in the day, but the quality of that game sucked lol) to make it feel new. But they basically rehashing the same games over and over....

That being said, the Wii U might have the best lineup this holiday, but after getting burned by the Wii I'm not gonna mess with it....

What is the real difference between the rehashing of things like Forza, Battlefield, COD, Killzone etc. and the rehashing of the concept of mario? The new mario looks really good :manny:. It's the exact same thing really, the same game with better graphics. The reason why you would give Nintendo games higher scores because you know what you are expecting and they usually do more than that. With something like xbox 1 or ps4, its killzone, forza, COD. Nothing they did is impressive at all, good graphics are not impressive. Different games are impressive. Minecraft is more impressive than all of the next gen drops.

"New games" usually get lower scores than the same old shyt.

Forza adds something more revolutionary than any of the games mentioned here, but people such as yourself downplay it as the same old shyt, while pretending like Mario is doing something new.

I've read shyt like "wii u has the only game worth playing this Christmas"

:stopitslime: really?

"Battlefield", "COD" and "Killzone" aren't doing anything that "Half Life 2" didn't do almost 10 years ago.

"COD" has had 10 games since 2003 and 10 other related "COD" titles separate from the main series.

"Battlefield" has had 12 games in the series since 2002.

"Forza" has had 6 games since 2005

To put it into perspective there have only been 19 "Mario" titles since 1985. Damn near 30 years.

So :heh: at trying to act like they're comparable. And you can't sit there and tell me "Mario 64" plays the same as "Mario Galaxy". :camby:

Your logic is broken here. There have been 19 Mario games which is more than any of the other games you listed.

If the number of sequels mattered, then Mario is old and stale as shyt.

And if Forza continues at its current rate it will have less titles than Mario in 28 years:ufdup:

Your logic is broken though because you are lumping all the different Mario games in to justify the "rehash" idea. but in those 19 different Mario games there are 2D side scrollers, RPGs and 3D adventures. hardly rehashes of the same game. Yes the characters are the same but the gameplay differs greatly, even within the same genre.

You said the 3D Mario's have been the same since Mario64. In 13 years there has only been 6 3D Mario's. hardly overdoing it.

Portal 2 was similar to Portal but was still extremely innovative. And I'd argue Mario 3D World is even more different than other Mario games not named 3D Land.

Graphics, presentation and things that are only new to consoles? That's like me mentioning that this is the first 3D HD Mario (which I didn't). NBA 2k graphics are great and a reason to own the game but they don't do anything to make the game any better or unique. Huge online battles is nothing new. It's new for you and HD is new for Mario but that's neither of those is impressing the people that are used to it. Levelution is nice but pretty underwhelming still (in terms of how it changes gameplay).

I've never seen the ability to clone Mario basically an unlimited number of times outside of the tech demo over a decade ago; I've never seen Mario accommodate so many movement systems while remaining so precision based; I've never seen a Mario with secrets .. and it's like the Verge review says:

or this GB review

There's this innovation on the micro level that rarely takes place in the big games you mentioned. Titanfall is a true innovation in that space. BF2 and Bad Company's were true innovations in that space. And there's nothing wrong with not innovating and instead perfecting. BF4 deserves a lot of praise for that. But I'm just calling it like it is.
fukking Christ those quotes. Knew there was a reason I held onto my Wii U :whew:

I'm not the one who came up with that goofy shyt in the first place. Nore have I argued that Mario is overdoing it.
