Yes they are the same, in the same way that DR3 is the same as 2

You are platforming through differnt levels trying to make it to the end. The levels are set up differently and you get different powers, but ultimately you are doing the same damn thing.

In DR3 the world is set up differently and you get different powers that change the gameplay.

Well the way you put it here you might as well say every game in existence out or coming out is the same.

Forza 5?? You just drive through tracks 3 laps each.

killer instinct?? Oh you just have to defeat the opponent.

Battlefield 4?? Oh just do the objectives like the older games required you to.

Killzone?? Shoot your way and kill to the end.

Halo? Shoot and kill aliens till you beat it.

Titanfall? Shoot and destroy mechs and humans.

Coli? Lie and post for daps/rep.

Steambox?? Just turn it on and play games.

Kinect? Just talk and do gestures like kinect 1.

Oculus rift: Just put it over your head and watch.

Nothing new here folks.

That's somewhat true. Very rarely is a game revolutionary. There's only so many ways you can race, shoot, or stab.

Never said that. I said some games get a pass for being more of the same, and some games get bashed for it.

I think most of the next gen games are improvements upon their predecessors or last gen games, but none of them are revolutionary. You can't call one "fresh and new" while calling the others old rehashes.

Saying that Mario, just like other games, is a evolution of the tried and true formula. Is not an opinion it's a fact

What I do think about reviews is that the scores are too closely related to the reviewers emotions/opinion. Which are subject to hype and expectations from readers.

I wish the scores had more to do with the technical acheivments of the devs.

Fun is subjective. A review score can't say how much each indivudal will enjoy a game, or how much it should be worth. But a reviewer can anylize the goals and acheivments of the dev, or whether the mechanics work or not.

I've read reviews were the reviewer seemed to like the game just as much as another, yet one game scores higher. I've seen reviews where the same bugs in one game can lower the score, while being ignored in another.

Reviewers can be just as biased and fanboyish as anyone else.

You sound like the type of nikka that goes to a summer blockbuster and spend half the time talking about "cinematography" and "audiography" and proper camera lens and all that bullshyt...while the rest of over here are eating popcorn and enjoying the action.

I don't know about y'all but I play games for fun and to be entertained by interesting gameplay. But do you tho, and be entertained by puurty graphics and physics.

I think other games do as well, but those games are held to a different standard by reviewers.
