That's just a game I picked. I can say the same for any of the other games I mentioned. They all have new playstyles/experiences within their own world that take the game/genre forward.

This is exactly how I feel right now. I got a 8 year old daughter, I know she would enjoy the games on here, but I don't know if I want to spend $700 in game systems when I'm not sure how much use I would get out of them.

I never cited sales either and you know damn well that's a rhetorical question. Obviously some people believe that. It was more to start a conversation, not to get a direct and obvious answer.

Lack of innovation. They try to resell the same game with a new skin, just like they tried to sell the same system with a new controller. I love mario, but fukk NINTENDO.

I'm very excited to see what the newsystems bring out over the next year(I'm hoping for some good JRPGs), but right now wii-u easily has the best on offer of the new generation systems going into christmas. Whether you attribute it to the recently just released games, the new bundles which seem to offer alot of value for money, the year long head start to build up a catalogue, or simply to the fact that the ps4/x1 launch games are kinda underwhelming. Anyway you spin it, wii-u really just seems like the best choice for this holiday season, especially for families.
Of course next Christmas will be a whole different ball game, but I don't see how any reasonable person can not see the wii-u as the best option this holiday season

Here's a rational post for you, take it however you want.
Nintendo just dropped a really dope looking game with SM3DW, and this, paired with the other experiences the Wii-U offers as well as the price, makes it look like it's going to have a good amount of games/value this Christmas that you won't find elsewhere on consoles.
I agree with everything but the "you won't find elsewhere on consoles" part.
I think the ps4 and Xbox offer their own games and value.
