r&b songs by females = bashing men, hes a liar a cheater, no good, im so much better without you, your replaceable, i found another

r&b songs by males = your the love of my life, been looking for you forever, now that i have you, dont be afraid to love

both are crap
Seriously breh leave that shyt out of here :camby:

There's weak or wrong about a "man" talking about someone he loves; and vice versa

Im telling you that you are wrong.

R&B died because all the money is in rap.
Yeah breh the 'record labels only support what is profitable and there's a lot of.under the table / backroom deals between record labels and media outlets.

Many record executives have come under fire, abd had to pay hefty fines...

Yeah, the money is in Rap.

You got Chris Brown and Trey touring this fall. They should both be headlining their own tours

You got Usher and August touring as well.

I guess John Legend doesn't count since he's "old" but dude had the number 1 song in the country and been on the charts for 47 weeks with a ballad about his wife in 2014. "All of Me" was so popular that they sped it up to make a dance track out of it for the dance/pop stations. I only listen to Sirius but I'm pretty sure all the major cities have adult/contemporary R&B stations that are pretty popular. I think Kiss FM might be the number 1 station in NYC or close to it. Just turn to whatever stations the Steve Harvey and/or Tom Joyner show broadcast on (not the Hot 97 clones), those stations play plenty of R&B with a good mixture of old and new:yeshrug:
John kept it trill since the beginning, but those adult/contemporary R&B stations they play mostly old school music . I listen to those stations but where are the new R&B artist at ? what does new R&B in 2014( in your personal opinion) sound like and why is not on the radio? Or do you think it is being played?

I noticed this too. 102 in Houston rarely does modern rnb.

I think one of the reasons R&B is face down in the mainstream is because folks are not starting in gospel or the black church. Most of the GOATs started in the black church, hell even Elvis started in the black church. "We losing the recipes"
There is no litmus test for new artists.

Another thing, no musicians, I commend the south for hold it down with the HBCU and High School show bands and for fostering and supporting musicianship. The Midwest got a lot of bands as well. Is it enough though?

These vocalist shouldn't sound like random folks off the street, we pay them to sound 10x better. Who lowered the damn bar and when did this happen?
Cause nikkas dont be like oooooooooh yeahhhhhhhhh anymore

Right now, pop radio is nothing but Dance which is fine, kids want to dance. They not playing Rock either. Its all about EDM and Dance music. Somehow Legend snuck into the rotation with "All of Me" and they even put an EDM beat on that. Does new R&B music always have to come from new artists? Usher has a nice R&B song out right now called "Good Kisser". I looked on Billboard.com and Kem has the #1 R&B album and R&B song right now with "It's You" and thats new. Chris Brown just released a ballad with Usher. Tank has an uptempo R&B jam for once with "You're My Star". Marsha Ambrosius released a 2 smooth R&B albums within the last 2 years and a couple of mixtapes. Luke James is about to release his first project. Neyo has a new song out. Jennifer Hudson has something new out. Someone already mentioned that very good Toni Braxton / Babyface album. On Sirius, they play everything from Miguel. MJ's "Love Never felt so Good" is R&B, actually that whole album is R&B. You still have the Jill Scotts, Chrisette Michelle's and Ledisi's who have a fan base. Imo, these artists don't need Top 40 / Pop radio to survive because every major market does have an outlet for them.

Same here. I listen to tunein and all the radio stations around the country and for the most part R&B is overpowered by hiphop. Some cities have good mix of both tho.

In my personal opinion, I do not like the new mainstream R&B thats out right now. They all sound like computerized pedestrian vocalist on a standard edm -hip hop beat.

I said in the beginning not everyone has access the XM radio. More people listen to their local radio than XM. They XM stations are :lawd: btw.

Tank (songs for days)
Masha Amborsius (Floetry)
Usher (one of the GOATs)
Jill Scott (Sounds Beautiful live)
Chrisette M ( Sounds Beautiful Live)
Ledisi- (Great Jazzy Voice and more of a Jazz/R&B/soul Fusion artist. )
Toni/Babyface(GOATS)

All are veterans in the game, Of course they have a fan base. What about the new school?

102 does old rnb for the most part. 97.9 blasts hip hop mostly but it's always been like that.
