I also think one of the reasons R&B is dead in 2014, because most people aren't in love. They are overcome with lust. They can't communicate effectively the notion of love. Therefore it's a lost cause.

Love to most people = simping. People just want to fukk like jack rabbits and pop some pills.
People just stopped giving a fukk about the front. I don't think society changed that much.

Our parents was being promiscuous, getting high, they just wasn't incorporating it into the music. The music now is a representation of reality

Yeah, but at least the likes of Barry White made music with subliminal layers so anyone of any level can enjoy it. Music these days have none of that; just raw and uncut like a rap song.

honestly I dont even really to music any more like I used too.

EVen when I drive i'd have the radio on mute or tune into NPR.

Me neither. I used to be a music fiend, but everything now is bleh. I NEVER listen to the radio, except like CSPAN and NPR. I've been trying to find older music that I can get into. I have found that England puts out better R&B esque artists than we do in America.

Only John Legend gets a pass because of what he did with the Mike Brown situation.

It comes to a point where foreigners make better quality R&B than young black America now. We will never see a young R. Kelly or Whitney Houston again, domestically.

Pretty much. Ever since like 2006, these singers been using autotune to mask their lack of talent and be making ratchet ass songs that might as well be rap music. Underground is the underground, and the goal is to expose the quality singers to the mainstream. In 2014, that is almost impossible to do.

The problem is these record companies aren't stupid, they are crazy. These clowns are intentionally putting out garbage for us to consume.

The powers that be are fukking with everything, the food, water etc, they destroying us every second.of the day.

Good music right now would just be here to temporarily comfort us because they are killing us mentally, physically and spiritually.

Agree to disagree is what mature people can do, in certain subjects.

I can't recall a young 20 something version of R Kelly or a young Whitney Houston making love ballads that can be listened to all generations, in this era.

No.

It's about making something that's simple and catchy that sells, to the most profitable demographic that will give them a great return on their investment( artist)

Agree to disagree is one thing. Being wrong is an entirely different matter. Now it's gotta be a 20 something person? It just can't be a musician who makes good music? So We're gonna ignore Jazmine Sullivan, Miguel, Luke James, BJ The Chicago Kid, and a host of others? C'mon breh! You're better than that.

Most of them are underground and ain't known/ heard by the mainstream. I'm not saying that quality R&B isn't being made anymore, just it went underground with a small cult of followers.

And yes, it is a concern that the next generation that is young cannot make or strive to make quality songs that stand the test of time. We need the youth to step up and lead for the return of quality music.
