Why does Shaq get a pass for playing with Kobe?

Shaq was simply the better, more dominant player at the time. That was his team.

One could argue Kobe surpassed him and eventually the Lakers were obviously his team, but Shaq anchored that team.

Since when do you need a pass to play with great players, especially one that you are better than? :dwillhuh:

Explain why Kobe put up better numbers against the Spurs (better team in 01 than the 76ers) than Shaq if he was a sidekick.... explain Kobe being the most dominant player against the 2nd best team in the league if he was a sidekick. Only ignorant Bron fans run with that dumb ass narrative.

You mean scored more points on more shots against the team's weakest link?

No I mean exactly what I typed.

Kobe's 33/7/7 was more dominant than Shaq's 27/13...and this was against the best team they faced in the 2001 playoffs

No sidekick does so Bron stans need to stop with that dumbass narrative.

I just wanna see a fukking dropstep:mjcry:
A nice up n under:mjcry:
What happened to the hook shot:mjcry:

If I see one more lanky ass uncoordinated only good for blocking shots ass center taking me another 3:martin:

Seriously what happened to the game nothing is more important than a dominant back to basket big man who can step out and hit a 10-15 footer you can completely dominate the game especially if you got the vision to pass out of the double
We have players who still have the skill sets. The zone being allowed after the 2001 finals changed the game along with teams realizing the value of the 3 point shot. This makes it much more time consuming to set up on the low block. Before the rule changes, you couldn't send a double at him until he already had the ball and had to stay close to your man at all times. The best examples of this are the 2001 and 2006 finals. Look at how Philadelphia guarded Shaq on and off the ball. Then look at how Dallas guarded him on and off the ball. If you want to run your offense through a classic low post big man today then you need to have 3-4 shooters to space the floor around him. Look at the starting lineups for the championship teams Shaq played on. They had 2-3 non shooters in the starting unit because teams werent prioritizing spacing the floor at the time.

Yeah this is what people don't seem to realize. Everything is reliant on shooting in todays game with the zone and the type of athletes we have out there. You can't even drive to the basket without shooters around you to create space. That said, a lot of these modern bigs can't post for shyt even if they do have space.

Every team in the league can shoot tho..The game is more wide open than its ever been imagine if the Celtics had a dominant low post man such as a prime Duncan,Kareem,Moses,Dream, shaq etc etc it would open the floor up even more because you'd have to keep atleast two bodies near him.........Joel emdiid must stay healthy he's the chosen one:mjcry:

But stop taking so many threes nikka:mjgrin:

act like kobe didnt bail out shaq in the west, then shaq brags about beating bums in the east

Name these beasts in the West that Kobe dominated:jbhmm:

Were these dominant guards on the level of Duncan, robinson, KG, Sheed, Malone??

I like how you guys point out shaq playing bums in the east, yet praise kobe for dominating the next best guard in the west, DOUG fukkING CHRISTIE :laff::laff::laff::laff::laff:
