Isn't that how it works anyway?

It's just not implemented and enforced very well

The teacher union has to fight for their constituents

A few questions

Are you for or against public education? If yes
Should people who are sending their kids to public schools pay extra in property taxes to help fund other districts you'd consider failing?
What's the income threshold if yes?
How many other should they have to support?

or

Lets just print more money tax more and
profit

Don't let military spending fool you

Don't let the numerous government inefficiencies fool you. When was the last time a govt project was under budget? The govt is full of red tape and bullshyt. Private citizens don't have to deal with any of that. A wealthy private citizen can accomplish the same as the govt with less money, less work, and less bullshyt. If you believe government is so great, you lost in your history lessons.

The NY MTA had a 2 billion dollar surplus this year. You think consumer costs when up or down in 2014?

Those people were called kings and they ran a form of government. The problem with some of you cats around here is that you only think of the US Federal Government as a model of what a government is.

Every extra dollar being taxes will be used by the government far better than person complaining about the taxes will ever use it

:heh: :heh:

The suburbs of D.C. are the most expensive in the country. So if you think Mr Senator's new built in elevator installed in his house is of good use, you're right.

You also just had a top financier in Bloomberg running your state. He's a genius and the stuff you guys let him get away with is crazy. He raped everyone on transportation. However, one genius that got his way doesn't equate to the rest of the country having such smart people in office that can efficiently manage public projects. If past performance is any indicator then the govt has higher expenses, higher delivery times, and higher bureaucracy red tape than a private project would have.

My statements are in regards to the current system. Addressing problems with the system is a different thing. In this current system, a private person can accomplish what the government does with less obstacles therefore spending less money and being more efficient.

:patrice: This doesn't the refute the claim that govt. is inefficient or that the private sector can perform many of the functions for less...

Thats my point. Mass is full of politics and bullshyt. Its very hard to accomplish big projects around here. The Big Dig was a disaster financially. It was supposed to cost $3billion. It ended up costing $20 billion. Thats 6x the original price tag. This just goes to my point that government is expensive and inefficient. The Big Dig would cost considerably less if it were a private project.

The amount of scams and short cuts that were taken was outrageous. Its a common problem with public projects. Everyone wants a piece. Thats usually how things get so expensive. I met some union guy that was tied into the dig and he was getting $40 an hour to stack milk crates. $40 per hour. :stopitslime:
