Why do people hardly do pullups or dips

Pullups are one of the most difficult things to do, and dips, so it's no surprise people avoid them like the plague :patrice:

If you can't do pullups(unless you're like 260+), you're either weak(especially through the core) or carry too much body fat. I see mad dudes in the gym who are jacked, pumping out pullups like they're hardly trying. Watched a dude who was like 220 at my height (5'10) hitting sets of 15+ :skip:

I still experience pain in my left shoulder doing dips so I've replaced them with different variations of pushups which I do everyday.

I love pullups they are probably one of my favorite exercises matter of fact I did 5 sets of 10 last night and now that y'all mention it, I was probably one of the only people in the gym (and it was packed last night) getting any bar work in.

Pullups are so beneficial people just don't realize how much they can help in other areas of your workout as well as help from aesthetic point of view. I try to get some bar work in 3x a week.

*Update 10/13/16*
So after almost a year of not being able to do dips due to pain in my left shoulder reading this thread earlier today inspired me to give them a shot since today was chest day. I warmed my shoulder up by taking a little 5 pound plate and rotating my arm forward/ backwards/ lifting up and whatnot in a slow motion. That did a hell of a job of losening my shoulder up and I felt no pain at all. I wound up getting my paper on them dips and did 7 sets of 10. I feel fukkin great! My Coli brehs came thru again and helped me turn my workout up some more. I shredded the shyt out my chest tonight.

I despise pull ups but they workout your whole damn upper body. I do about 50 on back and bi days in sets of 10. They become easier as time goes on

I don't do them because I cant. But I'm determined to be able to. A couple of guys just start busting out pull ups during break and even bet on who can do how much and try to get me to join in and I tell them I can't :francis:

Been practicing at the gym though on the machine and I Just copped a pull up bar and I'm off for the next two days:wow:.... ima come back to work stunting on nikkas:mjgrin:

It's worth it. We're talkin about the GOAT upper body exercise after all :blessed:
