Why do college educated black women seemingly, immediately write off blue collar black men?

It’s called Assortative mating and it’s quite normal. Statistically speaking dual college educated partners earn more money, have a higher quality of life, better health outcomes, etc. So it makes sense that college educated Black women would seek that type of arrangement.

Personally I believe Black women are more understanding than most in terms of dating down (educationally speaking). You see how these white men have gone off the rails? Or the hard right turn those Asians are doing in South Korea and Japan? White women and Asian women have completely shut their male counterparts out in terms of marriage and dating.
How can white women and asian women shut men out of marriage? It’s the men saying no to marriage and dating.

Women don’t control access to marriage and they bytch about this every day online. Y’all don’t see all these tik tok compilations of non black women complaining about there being no men at these dating events and singles mixers. This is happening all across the board.

For some, it’s not just a money thing, it’s socio-cultural. Going to college changed me and opened me up to a lot of new people, places and things. I was a very different person leaving Stanford than I was entering as a 18 yr old from Oakland. Blue collar workers don’t often have that exposure and it leads to being incompatible beyond surface topics.

Additionally, regardless of education, most women want to marry up, or at least at par, most wouldn’t feel they are doing that by marrying a blue collar dude
This is more feasible than them being job incompatible.

A lot of blue collar dudes only talk about work, sports and drinking beer.

I happen to be very well rounded and self educated so women were actually surprised I was blue collar cause I didn’t present like that in my good clothes. Only did 2 years of college.

Ehh i take what people say with a grain of salt . If she likes him and has solid career . Most woman are willing to look over things .
All if not most of the woman I date are highly educated. I have an Associates most of the ones I dated have bachelor's at min up to masters or doctorate. From my history they have dated dudes with the education and money but alot dudes use that aa shield or lean on that instead of there character or personality. For me at yes your job or career is important . But at the end your dealing with that person's character , and personality when they get home not there job .

hasn't been my experience at all.
about 70% of my college buddies who shared my professional field married solid blue collar guys.
I'm talking about the likes of a PwC partner married to a guy that's a barber.
in fact, seems to be the norm in the urban midwest.

Most people date within their socioeconomic bracket. Doctors date lawyers. Engineers date bankers. This isn't unique to black women. You aren't gonna find many white girl bosses dating plumbers. The Coli spent years pretending like successful men are out here exclusively dating women who don't have jobs when in reality they date their peers.

I’m gonna say what more brothers should probably tell you…. It’s definitely unpopular opinion, but here goes….

IN 2025, BLACK WOMEN AS A WHOLE ARE NOT TO BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY

This will cause you less stress overtime and train you to stop expecting so much from this group….

Cuz the same ones that say they don’t want a blue collar black man who still might be making six figures, are the same women that will date a white man or a street nikka who’s getting money in a heartbeat.

Take them with a grain of salt… and I love black women but this is where we are at in society right now

:manny:
When they do decide to date blue collar brehs it’s usually them doing the reach back to get a good man after they couldn’t get their 1st choice of dude to commit to them. And they usually have kids..but nikkas gonna deny this of course

From what I’ve observed, White women will go after the guy more likely to earn more and let her stay at home. If that’s the plumber (who owns a plumbing company) vs the corporate middle manager, they’ll go with the plumber.
This most other kinds of chicks go after earnings potential Black women like for Black Men to have earnings proof.

Same Black women are down to work with a non Black Man though.

Basically it’s an issue of distrust, like a bad Tyler Perry movie I guess they think the Black Man is gonna go run off with a white chick or something.

Where you from breh?:comeon:

In the south, the white nurse/teacher and tradesman is so common in the south its damn near a stereotype.
These dudes stay cappin. Mexican men were just going viral for working hard and being construction workers and providing for their wives. And these videos were going viral within black internet spaces. Black women were swooning. Fact of the matter is, "Blue collar" looks good on everyone except black men. :manny:

On other men, it signals "traditional masculinity/soft life for the wife" on black men it signals "broke/lowIQ/Unambitious". nikkas need to stop lying to themselves in these threads. :dead:

Dudes have trouble getting women and blame this or that.

They just don't like you.
absolutely and he needs to focus on the women that like him. and take the focus and attention completely off those that don’t like him.

additionally the 40 fit feminine and fabulous Black queens who never been properly courted have to be ducks since we’re assuming that it’s always a you problem.

Who’s down to say that? Halle Berry felt the need to address is since she’s been buying and being bushed by dikk since 1995.

Unfortunately I have to agree with you to a certain extent…. It’s almost like black wome these days take a long time to realize what they should have done years ago…. Takes em way to long to humble themselves… they wanna live like female rappers and these chicks on real housewives/love and hip hop… once they realize that it’s not beneficial for them, they try to do the reach back lol
