i agree with this. just want to add that they have to be responsible and rational people.

the challenge with us is that we can be very passionate and almost impulsive in our reactions some times. maybe moreso than other races. if we're not responsible gun owners and committed to the common goal this will come back to bite us.

You can't just look singularly at gun laws and disregard other (probably more important) factors like poverty, gang activity, population density, education levels, etc.

California, for example, has the highest poverty rate (for a state) in the U.S. You can't look at gun violence in Cali and say "California has a lot of gun control and there are still a lot of crimes, therefore gun control is bad" and totally ignore the economic situation there.
