Why are black people in south/Latin America completely missing from their society's public sphere?

Antonio Gomes. :what:

nikka you dont know shyt. I can tell off top youve not lived in south america. you just pointed out an actor that was a sambo back when WE had black sambos.

nikka post present day actors. there's even a fukking pinecrest on brazilian black actors. this shyt was created by a black american who actually took the time to research their shyt.

there are HUGE black movie stars in brazil wtf are you talking about nikka, just stop the bullshyt around, your ignorance is cringe worthy.
"Antonio Gomes"? Thats Mussum you dumbfukk, he was part of Trapalhões, and i can name a lot of sambos still working nowadays. All the novelas at 6 p.m. has sambos playing slave character and its been happening for a long time(Joia Rara, Lado a Lado, Araguaia,Cordel Encantado). What youre talking about WE lol, like i said just because they are black doesn't mean theyre doing anything positive. Huge black movie stars? :heh: what planet are you in? There's only Lazaro Ramos and he's not even that big
I'm not gonna waste more time with you...

bruh do you know who the man in this smiley is that im about to respond with :what:

the fuk is wrong with you asking what blacks are staring prime time? blacks have been primetimeing since the 70's,
there are more than a few black superstars and A listers and more than a few black directors

what is the braxilains an columbian equivalent to them

the size of the media industries has nothing to do with it, the issue is the percentage? do you know math?

shut the fuk up with city of men, we get that it has black people in it, we all saw the movie the show is based on, we also know that city of god is an outlier
stupid ass nikka, I asked for prime time shows NOW, that are predominately black. List 3.

Cobras & Lagartos is the only one I watched in brazil. If you want to know about the ones on cable you're going to have to do your own research. You just made this assumption and have clearly not done that otherwise you wouldnt be asking me. :what:

yo gotta be kidding me, that as just a list of the few black actors, half of the people on the list are from your favorite show city of men

there issue is black brazilian actors dont go beyond much that list, you cannot make a list of black american actors because the list would go on forever

Lemongrass, cherries, alkaline water
I actually own this book. I'll make sure to read it this summer. In the next year, if you could recommend a book on a country that is not Brazil or Cuba, I would greatly appreciate it.

Colombia: Black and Green: Afro-Colombians, Development, and Nature in the Pacific Lowlands by Kiran Asher
Mexico: Colonial Blackness, A History of Afro-Mexico by Herman Bennett
Slaves of the White God: Blacks in Mexico by Colin A. Palmer, this one is hard to find
Argentina: The Afro-Agrentines of Buenos Aires 1800-1900 by George Reid Andrews

In terms of general reading I enjoyed the books on Argentina and Colombia the most. I have scores of shorter articles/PDF's that I've collected in recent memory ranging from Afro descendants involvement in the construction of the Panama Canal (very good read), contemporary Afro-Brazilians views on their placement in the country, to the role of Afro-Mexicans in their country's independence. I'll have to check when I'm home to see all that I have but when I do I'll let you know and I can send those over. May serve for more convenient reading than a book but also very informative.

nikka are you stupid? only ONE actor in that link was in city of men, I been off city of men for about 4 posts now.

and no the list of black actors in america would go on forever because Hollywood is the BIGGEST fukkING INDUSTRY IN THE WORLD. Do you know how many movies we kick out compared to the Brazil? its a fukking blow out. They might come out with 2 a month, we come out with 6 per weekend nikka excluding indies. :heh:

nikka Sinha Moca is not a novela, its a tv series. its like saying "look they got slaves in roots". wtf is going on here.....WTF IS GOING ON HERE.

As for those pics of Ramos in Lado a Lado, am I missing something? That takes place right after slavery in the 1900s. Its how people dressed back then, maybe Im missing something. He wasn't c00ning it up on the show at all, in fact he fukks a white woman in that series, that's quite the opposite of tap dancing. They were on that nikkas dikk.
