Why are black people in south/Latin America completely missing from their society's public sphere?

Because they tolerate black people there and generally dont embrace the. Argentina just killed all the black people that didnt flee to Brazil after slavery.
Argentina is a special case though :whoa:
Their level of racism is unmatched on the continent. They don't just hate blacks, they hate all the natives too (if you're not of European descent, you're a "negro" there). They see themselves as the Europeans of South America (a lot of them are of Italian descent)... Even though they're not even rich (Brazil is far richer).
That's why they are so hated all over the continent... Most of South America was rooting for Germany in the World Cup final

Yeah, Columbia for example, has a 14 percent black population, which means Columbia has more black people percentage wise than the United States

The simple answer is that Latin America is a racist oppressive society against black people, in the us black people have exploited the concepts of liberty and freedom to advance our cause, in Latin America there is no real ingrained concept of freedom even if you are white

But also the racial mixture is different and the one drop rule is not as clear so it's easy for black people or mixed people to say they aren't black (or Indian)

But the real question is why are so many black Americans convinced that people from Latin America will unite with them against the "cac" when Latin America society is just as racist as the us, what makes people think that white people from England are different than white people from Spain?

:mjpls: a lotta ppl don't understand this. a lotta coli keyboard militants can't grasp that concept that the racial caste system over there is way more complicated than black, white and mexican

Apparently blacks having a "violent nature" isn't just something America likes to portray. I wonder how something like that actually happens?

people shouldn't be surprised by this, the people that founded the united states of america and the people that founded most latin american countries are the same people, from the point of view of the african slave

there is no divide and conquering going on, latin american culture is racist and anti black at its core just like the united states, that racism developed independently of the united states

this is why its stupid for negroes to be going around talking about we need amnesty and we need more immigration and we need to unite with "brown" people, "brown" people are not your friends any more than a white person is

took words right out my mouth.

Good luck finding anything African on popular Brazilian TV's

you dont even have to go that far, look at an any spanish channel in america, white american media is more diverse than any spanish channel in america, univision and all those channels are just white people 24/7

that is what black people have to look forward to in the hispanization of north america

People should note that many former nazis fleed to Argentina. It was a safe havan for them. And IIRC Argentini itself willfully gave them refugee. Argentina to todays white supremacist is considered anew home when the USA "turns to shyt".

Everyone should think about that. To me Argentina is a fascist country.

Yeah, Adolf Eichmann was captured there by the Mossad in 1960. Lots of Nazis ended up there after the war (with the help of the Red Cross and the Vatican) because Peron was a nazi sympathizer (along with Pope Pius XII).
The Middle East and South America were safe havens for Nazi criminals (Dr. Mengele was found in Brazil, others in Chile, Syria, etc).

I will let everything slide but if you try to make side racists comments about me that shyt gets addressed head on.

Also black people that rock Che Guevara clothing are c00ns and a disgrace.

Che Guevara hated your black ass but you can't hear this doe

Political power does not mean economic power, that is why so many black politicians end up in jail.

Swagnificent wrote and excellent post on how the one-drop rule in the US benefited blacks. If racism isn't overt and spelled out in the law, it is nearly impossible to fight.
http://www.thecoli.com/posts/6100975/

We had whites on our side. The NAACP was created by whites and mixed blacks. Most HBCUs were created and/or funded by whites: missionaries, industrialists, abolitionists, and racist state governments. The US Constitution is fluid and changes with the times.

Quick Info:
Vicente Guerrero, 2nd president of Mexico, was black/mixed.
Pio Pico, last Mexican governor of California, was black/mixed.
Fulgencio Batista, president and dictator of Cuba, was black/mixed. He was banned from joining Havana Country Club because he was black. (The dictator, ya'll.)
Hugo Chavez, president of Venezuela, was black/mixed.

It is important to know that in Latin American the indigenous people typically have less than blacks and many don't speak Spanish well or at all.

To say that black Americans "benefited" from the one drop rule is tenuous conclusion. Following your logic, blacks should appreciate whites more than minorities and honor them as a more valuable part of the black collective, because they are advantaged in dealing with whites and have a part in ensuring black American freedoms. The same applies to mixed people. Notice how contrived this line of reasoning goes? Outside of the oppressor's sphere of influence over the oppressed, there is no advantage to having whites or mixed people in black affairs. They are useful in dealing with whites like mustard gas was useful in dealing with enemy combatants in WW2, except the mustard has no further implications and can be locked away from society afterward.

I used to watch city of men religiously when it was on air, downloaded all the series. it was an all black tv show. I watch several brazilian flicks, all which have black people. in fact the most famous brazilian actor is black. they are def under represented in novelas, but black people in america are under represented in soaps too. most blacks think they're watck and lame. I guess the ones down south do too. our women are too busy working, those shows are for rich white women who do fukk all during the day.

No one in the world will agree with you African Americans are under represented on American television.

Most of the stereotypes of AA around the world is based on what they see on TV.

We are everywhere
