Damn i was gone say spitta til i read op and thought about it. Everybody stole some of his styles. I don't think we have any artists like that these days if we consider that most of they styles were put together from previous acts.

wiz said Curren$y taught him how to wear jordans :dead: A LOT of people ran with curren$y's fashion sense, his former boss being one of them (Lil Wayne)

God dammit I want to say Eminem but so many rappers list him as an inspiration/favorite - despite their music not sounding like him at all.

So I'll say MC Hammer, who has sold more records than many people listed in this thread yet might as well have never existed.
Hammer taught rappers how to commercialize themselves, Jay-Z, 50, Dre, Master P, others got the blueprint from him.

Lowkey, Lauryn Hill.

We still haven't seen a mainstream female rapper try to dabble in Lauryn's lane and artistry to this day. Lil Kim and Trina are the real blueprint for today's female rappers in the mainstream.
Fox 5 as well, Glorilla bringing that La Chat, Gangsta Boo, Mia X image back as well.

50 definitely influenced everyone with the kicking up dust before album releases. Plus the mixtapes and DVD sound bites. I think Troy ave was kind of going for a 50ish lane but with none of the elements that made 50, 50. I think Saigon was kind of marketed to be the next 50. Game’s original marketing was all about him being shot 5 times.
never understood this, (probably because I never paid attention to him because he was ASS)

50 also influenced tons of rappers oversesas.

A lot of rappers in countries like the UK, Brazil, Russia, South Africa, and even parts of Asia have cited 50 as an influence.
only black artist that toured the places 5 toured was Michael Jackson

NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
Influence is more than someone trying to emulate someone else's style. That said, it would have to be Ja Rule. He had hits, sold a lot of records, but really didn't impact the game like his contemporaries or even artists who came after.
Ja Rule is the king of singing nikkas that can’t sing. shyt he directly influenced the nikka he was beefing with. Lol
