Didn't 50 say Jam Master Jay encourage him to focus on hooks and being musical? I mean...POTD was full of hooks before he even blew up.

Good point. I meant the way the hooks were sang. But I could be wrong. Some of his hooks on GRODT came off the way Eminem would sing his during and most MMLP.

I could be wrong though. He sang hooks before on “power of a dollar” and they were his own thing. Same as on some of the massacre.

The more vulnerable “for the ladies” songs seemed to kind of mimic Ja Rule, in a way.

I’m going to say busta rhymes. For as big as he was during his height(s) I be low key forgetting he was a rap super star.

Oh and add Mystical to the list as well.

Lastly, ying Yang twins? It’s like they never existed.

I think busta's style is too hard to emulate.

Some rappers try to replicate a little of the eccentricism he had and the energy he had, but I don't think you can really be busta

The closest guy who has busta's energy and rap style is denzel curry. If you had to pick somebody

I was just thinking that everybody who signed to his label pretty much rapped how he did and said the same things he said. Even fiend, once he signed over there.
I hate that but I kinda understand at the same time. Bro had the coldest styles at the time but that don't mean you gotta take every single bit of it and not try at all to do it your own way

Dababy emulated his videos.

Least influential would be Jeezy I think, he only got 1 rap son.

Yall really let this man slide with this Jeezy take:scust:?

This man dumbed down the entire south rap style, turned every trap nikka into more of a comedian . Not to mention the dark, classical trap beats. Hes not the first to do it as I would note Eazy E,Mobb Muzic had alot of this style. But Jeezy definitely took it and modernized it. Just because the bums who tried to copy him werent succesful at it,doesnt mean they werent trying:mjlol:

Ying yang => Travis porter.
D roc of the ying Yang twins was a Atlanta bounce/bass artist in the early to mid 90’s. The “Bankhead Bounce” song was very influential, locally

Mystikal is the reason every southern rap clique, with access to a damn studio, in the late 90’s just had to have a dude who tried to rap fast but wasn’t saying shyt lol. I’m not sure why every rap clique had to have a fake ass Jamaican accented dude it though lol.

I’m sure busta has sprinkled some influence, especially after the scenario verse.

1. Mystikal
2. Busta
3. LL
4. Puff
5. Snoop

Snoop => all of so so def’s rap line up lol. Puff definitely influenced all the label heads that had to be seen and heard. Possibly even jermaine dupri (big possible though).

LL=gave birth to the whole vulnerable ladies man with an edge genre. He may have even had a hand in R&b eventually blending into rap.

I can see that.

I think I hear a bit of Heavy D with BIG too.

Thread starter said successful; MFs are mentioning Hopsin and shyt lmao...

Hopsin was mentioned as being influenced. I’m sure he helped pave the way for some of the druggy white mumble rappers with weird hair colors lol.
