only black artist that toured the places 5 toured was Michael Jackson

This is actual facts.

nikkas don't know the reach 50 (and Eminem) had at their peaks. 50's music touched places that didn't have widespread internet access in '03/'04. He had the entire continent of Africa going crazy :wow:

I guess the cool guy rap spot, but it's hard to say that because Dom, Curren$y and Larry June all been rapping like that for years. Spitta and Dom are in Wiz's class too. I will give him the tattoo craze.

Also had a huge influence on nikkas dying their hair today now that i think about it. Young nikkas everywhere had that blonde spot he had.

Eventually odell took it to a new level

Probably Flo-rida, lol. He's extremely successful, nig got singles that went Diamond and all that fly shyt...but aint nobody jackin that guy, :russ:
Even though I said Nelly, I would say Flo-Rida is Nelly 2.0. Street dude who wasn't known for lyricism or even good beats but has hits and made catchy songs.

What?

Lauryn was an entire shift. We don't get a Black On Both Sides or even a College Dropout without Lauryn Hill. The whole school theme is Miseducation all day. I don't even know how this got a pass. One of Drake's biggest songs is built on a Lauryn sample. Kanye had a Lauryn Hill sample as one if his biggest hits.

I would say Missy and Kim are more so blueprints than Trina.
I would say that's a reach, plenty of afro-centric, backpack music was made in the early to mid 90s.

This is a stretch lol
you think 50 cent would have video games, Jay-Z/Puffy have a clothing line, Dre have a headphone brand or Master P making movies if Hammer didn't have his cartoon, commercials, etc. He was the first to do it and this was when hip hop was still "voice of the streets" Hammer had white folks by the dozens buying his shyt.

Above the fray.

Reason why I wouldn't say Nelly is that his influence is undeniable

1) put his city on the hip hop national map......put his crew on, JD snatched up an affiliated act, Chingy, and blew him up
2) embraced and made "country" something to claim.....where you started hearing the word used by other artists, and countrified acts were signed like the "Nappy Roots"
3)AF1s were always big in metro area. Jay Z blew them up more nationally. Nelly "My Adidas'd" AF1s to his large pop audience

It's still bogus to say Lauryn Hill wasn't influential and then to claim Trina is more influential than Lauryn Hill is laughable. Lauryn's influence extends beyond female rappers. Peep:

There’s always a void when it comes to the female MC world, and she went beyond that. It checked me as an MC because she was pure. There was no chains, no fancy cars, she checked us on all of that. On songs like “Superstar” and “Lost Ones” and “Doo Wop,” she talked to us, she went into who we were as men and women.
