You got P&T off the top? I got 100% schedular (meaning I can work) I heard that it will flip or I can apply for P&T in five years though.

Is there any benefit that P&T gets that 'regular" 100% doesn't get?
Far as I know you get federal student loan forgiveness, don’t pay property taxes on your primary residence, and a couple other things.

And yea I was surprised I got P&T off top. But I was fcked up. Like I said I was in rehab for 30 days, out of work for another 2 months, suicidal, had a guy at our unit crack and off himself a while back

I think policy says if your mental health condition is static for 6 or 9 months you’re supposed to be eligible to be med boarded. My psychologist told me they would med board me, but I was already being chartered out so that admin separation took priority over the medical discharge

The bolded is the difference, It took me years to accept PTSD. I got medboarded when the Docs gave me a no field no uniform profile. They one day started checking my blood pressure when we went to the field granted I was shaking and had the sweats but they found my BP was sky high, they'd send me to the TMC and once they got me out of the uniform it would be normal. It happened three times and "Hello early retirement" They said it was PTSD but at the time I didn't believe in it and frankly I assumed that I didn't see enough action to warrant having PTSD.

So since I was technically able to do most things the Army gave me 30% and the VA doubled that and I was ok with that. When I started losing jobs and I had to pay back some of the VA money I was getting I put in for more. One day they just awarded me 100% I wasn't expecting that.

Almost there. 3 more years to go.

I will definitely be getting 100%, purple heart recipient and dozens of other reasons.

I should make E8 in the 2021 cycle.

E8 retirement check with 100% VA should put me around 6500-7000 a month for the rest of my life.

I’m in the Air Force. 1Z2X1, combat controller.

About to hit 17yrs in December. 3 more to go, and I don’t plan on staying in a day more than 20.
Currently, I'm an E-5 Army infantryman. What's your advice on how to build my disability case when my company (unit) denies signing my sick call forms>

They won't sign you're sick call forms? That's ridiculous, I'd find another unit or another MOS.

That being said it matters more what they doctor says. Disabilty ratings go off what's in your medical file not what your commander thinks of you.

But really if you want to get over all you have to do is to complain about pain. You can do this when you separate. You can't quantify pain. If you say it's dibilitating long enough then you can make a claim. If you're Airborne it's almost subjective that you'd have bad knees or a bad back. You don't need any physical proof. PTSD is another one, no one can say what makes someone get PTSD one reason I didn't believe in it was because so many people make bullshyt claims. I met an old dude who said he had PTSD from a white boy telling him he was gonna fukk with his straps on a jump. That sounds likely to someone who never jumped but the idea that someone would fukk with your pack while on the plane is insane. But again it's a perception issue complain about it long enough and that's free money.

Frankly I disagree with lying but white people make big money telling Vets to do this so why not give you the game for free. If you just decided to admit yourself to the VA hospital saying that you're suicidal you have a 90% chance of getting 100%.

Special Ops. Air Force has 3 Special Ops career fields. PJ’s, CCT and the formerly special ops weather.

TACP can be assigned to special ops units once they become JTAC it qualified but they’re part of the battlefield career field just like EOD.
Yeah the TACP dudes work with the 82nd and SF. It seems like a cool job. That being said I know the Army has Air traffic control people too they're in no way "high speed" much less special ops what's the difference in what they do and what you do? It would be funny if they literally worked in Aircraft towers when you guys are with SF bring hate from the Air.

I also heard that it's actually extremely hard to become a CCT especially considering most Air Force jobs are extremely cake compared to the Army.

I separated from the Air Force in February. Did 11 years as a 1C1X1, Air Traffic Controller. I’ve been going back and forth with the VA over the last few months because they closed out my separation claim even though I told them I was working in Afghanistan and wouldn’t be able to come back and see a doctor anytime soon, due to travel restrictions. My local VA center in NYC said it wouldn’t be an issue but apparently it was so now I’ve gotta appeal to get things opened up again. The VA is a real pain. Glad to see people getting their benefits though.
