Illmatic alone beats Kdot it for me personally

I have a stronger connection to that album than any of Kdots music

Its Nas just off more in the collection. And the Hit Boy run did more to solidfy it than damage it cause the production was diverse enough to give people a bit of everything they wanted Nas to be on sonically.
Kendrick got more of a consistent run critically so to speak, but you can see even now thats hes been in a battle try to downplay certain albums like Mr Morale (Or how some try to discredit TPAB)

But yeah its a generational thing

the answer is nas, but kendricks discography is way more potent and consistent but thats due to the low output.

nas stans will be in here gassing up mid shyt like untitled, i am, hip hop is dead, distant relatives and streets disciple though. i could really be an a$$hole and include half of that irrelevant hit boy series too :mjlit:

All great albums.

Nas is the only rapper who can get an album as great as I Am called Mid.

This is a nuanced conversation. Nas is my GOAT but Kendrick has the best album discography of a solo act in hip hop up until Mr. Morale.

Nas didn't have a 4-5 album run of classics. Now song for song he is untouched, in terms of peaks, he is untouched. As a Duo Outkast was the closest thing to having a perfect rap discography up to Idlewild. As a soloist Kendrick is. Nas is the dude who will always have stand out stellar cuts even on a mid album so you still get some vue as a listener but he wasn't always carefully crafting solid cohesive bodies of work. That's why his one producer albums run with HIT was fantastic. We got some focused cohesive albums that easily sit with his best shyt. The difference is if I look at the overall picture he has some misses. So far Kendrick only got Mr. Morale.

Poll result is hilarious.

Easily Kendrick. Nas' volume hurts him as he has two duds and a string of "ehh" albums. Kendrick only has one album I'm ehh on while everything else is at the very least great.

:mjlol: I Am is half a great album and half trash...literally the dictionary diefinition of mid

Great:
NYSoM 2
Hate Me Now
Small World
Favor for a Favor
We Will Survive
Life is What You Make It
Nas Is Like
Undying Love

Meh:
You Won't See Me Tonight
Ghetto Prisoners

Trash:
I Want to Talk To You
Big Things
Dr. Knockboot
K-I-S-S-I-N-G (probably okay in a vacuum but it's surrounded by trash and not good enough to overcome it lol)
Money Is My bytch

How you answer this question really depends on whether you an old head or a relatively younger person.

For us old heads the answer is obvious. For my nephew he lookin at me like :childplease:
I'm an old head and K. Dot has the better discography IMO.
