after his next album itll be kendrick

but rn its Nas cause of volume

edit: esco dont got much after god’s son. them hit boy collabs cool/good but they dont add anything to his catalog
Life is Good is better than every album except GKMC

And in real time the quality gap between those two albums wasn’t that great if existent at all with the post release glaze you’d think it’s one of the greatest albums in American music history

Nas but the comparison is unfair since he's been around 2x longer

A better, more interesting debate, would be Kendrick from 2010 to 2024 vs. Nas from 1994 to 2008. Because Kendrick is probably more consistent but Nas has higher highs & lower lows.

I like Kendrick but Nas easily especially in this day and age.

Nas already has arguably the best rap album ever(Illmatic) but he also has IWW, God's Son, Stillmatic, Lost Tapes, Lost Tapes 2, Distant Relatives, LIG, and the entire KD and Magic series on top of it.

For a rapper as prolific as Nas with damn near 20 projects, he's very consistent. And even his "lesser" albums like I Am, Nastadamus, SD, and Untitled have gems in them. Kendrick still only has 5 solo albums in a 13 year run and only a couple of side projects. He's simply not prolific enough to compare to Nas yet.

The only thing is Kendrick's favor is not dropping a "bad" album yet and having more commercial/crossover appeal which some rap fans value a lot(I personally don't).

But, if we're strictly talking about consistency and nothing else, I guess the answer is Kendrick. But it's still an unfair comparison.

Yeah, and will K Dot still be releasing music to get to that volume of discography. Nas is the best to me so when I say Kendrick is more consistent it's not a dig at Nas. But you got to give him his besides his debit and his last every album has been a major event on a major scale and he is doing it with quality music. Hard feat to pull off in this climate.
Nas' unreleased shyt can compete with most's official discography. So whenever you add that he's the best.

I think u missed the point.... Kendrick is more consistent because he's only released 6 projects... let him release 20 total albums, and he'll have misses like Nas.

now if we compare their first 5 projects.. Nas is still beating him

I'm interesting in The Coli's view on this.

Nas has got the alpha omega classic in Illmatic.

Kendrick has probably the most acclaimed hip hop album of the last 20 years.

Nas obviously has a longer discography with some perceived classics, borderline albums, some arguable failures and other albums with less consensus

Kendrick been around a lot less and is a lot less prolific but also has two other modern classics (GKMC, DAMN), and a divisive album (Morale), and a beloved mixtape, plus some other ish like Untitled/Unmastered

What say you Coli? Is the comparison retarded because of the disparity in their tenures in hip hop? . Is this thread made partially to annoy @spliz? Is Drake a paedophile? Who can say
A strange comparison because at this point NaS career is more than twice as long at this point.

Also I think Kendrick's three best full length albums are Section 80, GKMC & TPAB. I thought TPAB was universally considered a classic ? - not seen many place DAMN above it never mind Morale.

A better question may have been to compare Kendrick's best three: Section 80, GKMC & TPAB against Nas best three Illmatic, IWW and Stillmatic - Nas wins but for Kendrick to even be in the conversation is testament to how good he is because number rappers who have three albums that compare to top three Nas releases is very small.
