This ain’t even a debate, it’s Nas because of longevity. Even if you wanna bring up their first 4 studio albums Nas still better.

Damn is a solid album. 4 mics. Nothing more. Mr Morale is average. Decent 3.5 mic album. Both released 2 classics back to back.

Illmatic———> GKMC
IWW———> TPAB
I Am = Damn
Both dropped mid 4th albums.

None of Kendricks first 4 releases are fukkin with illmatic and IWW.

Honestly, in retrospect, Kendrick only has two 10/10 albums: GKMC and TPAB. And Section 80 was an amazing debut that cemented Kendrick as one of the new guards in the game but it's no classic by any means. And Untitled Unmastered is an amazing Kendrick equivalent to Lost Tapes.

I know there's a media push to make out DAMN and Mr. Morale to be elite level albums but it's very forced and heavy handed in a way that Nas was never given since the media compares everything Nas does to Illmatic while downplaying his other good albums.

DAMN won a Pulitzer and was acclaimed but tons of people view it as a step down from his 2011-2015 run including myself. Mr. Morale had very strong subject matter and mature themes but it musically was slightly worse than DAMN with N95 sounding even worse than Humble and We Cry Together sounding worse than most other Kendrick songs despite having a great concept to it. Honestly, the tour played a huge role in having people show love to Mr. Morale.

I didn't listen enough to the Black Panther soundtrack to judge how good it was so I'll let the Booth be the judge on that as I don't like speaking on things I haven't listened to thoroughly.

Overall, Nas just has more music that I can enjoy than Kendrick. But we still need to give Kendrick more time to show that he can maintain his constitency while becoming more prolific. It's easier to be consistent with only 5 solo albums than with 17 solo albums.

nikkas mentionin longevity which is true but ven if you do just they top 5 vs top 5 its still Nas easy. All Nas other shyt plus this recent Hitboy run its not even worth a discussion

Pac was jammin to Illmatic to get through his whole 94 trial and was listenin to nothin but IWW accordin to Outlawz the week he passed, A nikka like Kendrick gotta use prerecorded Pac interview for a fake deep cringe interview skit on album :russ: different level of MCs

I think u missed the point.... Kendrick is more consistent because he's only released 6 projects... let him release 20 total albums, and he'll have misses like Nas.

now if we compare their first 5 projects.. Nas is still beating him
Completely disagree.

Section 80, GKMC, TPAB, Damn, Big Steppers > Illmatic, IWW, I Am, Nastradamus, Stillmatic

And I think Nas is the best but both I am . . and especially Nastradamus are wack. The low points of his career.

the answer is nas, but kendricks discography is way more potent and consistent but thats due to the low output.

nas stans will be in here gassing up mid shyt like untitled, i am, hip hop is dead, distant relatives and streets disciple though. i could really be an a$$hole and include half of that irrelevant hit boy series too :mjlit:

This stretch is what really killed Nas's untouchable status, for me.

That Hit-Boy run, with the exception of Magic, was just weak to me. I still feel like bro hasn't made an album that speaks to his greatness since the 90's. He can do much better than what he's been dropping the past 20+ years. I'm hoping this Premier project brings that back out of him.

:mjlol: what did you think was gonna happen? East coast snoop dogg's discography is about as average as it can get. But this the Nas bulletin board.
